I have a hairline that goes way back.ive had it from day one so it hasnt receded.what would you call that???it goes back very far and looks very much like a receding hairline but it hasnt receded.i get frustrated when people call it a receding hairline but cant be bothered to tell them it hasnt receded and has always been like that

it's called a high hairline.

Just explain to them that you are born with a high hairline or a big forehead (hey, it's a sign of wisdom). It's nothing to worry about and you can also see it in women sometimes.

Also, if you're not loosing hair, I think you can experiment with styling your hair differently to avoid that comment. If your natural hairline is really high, try consult a hairstylist who should be able to help.

It actually depends on the shape of the hairline. If it goes back just above the temples with a more pronounced area in front that seems somewhat "V" shaped, It's called a "Widows Peak", as in Eddie Munster. It's been said that a widow's peak is a sign of virility. So maybe, it's lucky for ya!
