Hello Everyone. I bought a DVD recorder today, hoping to put some home videos onto DVD. Anyways, I read S-Video will carry a better video quality. I have a DVD/VCR combo that has a S-VIDEO output, but when I plug it in it only broadcasts the DVD. Yet the yellow and white cords show the video playing... Can S-Video work with VHS?

Another issue, its black and white. I read somewhere:

"The mini-DIN pins, being weak, sometimes bend. This can result in the loss of color, or other corruption (or loss) in the signal. A bent pin can be forced back into shape, but this carries the risk of further damage, or even the pin breaking off."

Is that true? Please help me with both questions

I am sympathetic to her pain, but am concerned. The medicines to keep her comfortable are expensive and I cannot afford them. Without the medicines, she is crying out so loud that neither she, the other cat, or me and my husband can sleep. Is the idea of putting her down out of line? I've spent $700 of rent money on vet bills, and have no solutions. I love this little kitty, but she is consistently uncomfortable, and now, so am I. Any thoughts?

Is a rapture and an assumption the same?There are some people in both the Old & New Testaments that have been raptured,or "assumed," but Mary,the mother of Jesus Christ,isn't named as one of them.So,where did the Catholic church get that idea from,and who in the Catholic church started it? The knob you use to change how the air comes out broke off and the metal piece under it will not turn. It's stuck on defrost. Can I use pliers to turn it until it gets into the mechanic?

Alright, I've decided that I'm going to get a new bike. I've found that I love biking, and want to get something decent. I bike both on road, and off road (usually on road, but I love off roading) Problem is: money. Being young, I can't afford thousands of dollars worth of gear. What do you think of this plan; would it work?

I buy a nice mountain bike. Drop a couple thousand on a decent mountain bike. Now, I'd also like to get a set of racing slicks (drop another few hundred) that I can easily install in my bike - just swap out the off-roading tires, and throw in the slicks.

I don't know much about bikes, so would this work? Can I get racing slicks with disc brakes (for easier/faster swap out)? I understand I'll need rims + rubber + tube + sprocket, but can it be done? Two completely diff. sets of tires, one frame? Would it be worth it?

Hello, I need some help with my ubuntu linux I just got. Putting linux on a CD and booting it would be easier, but I would prefer to use an SD card since I will only install it once. I have already extracted the content and put it on the card. Now I want to know how to boot it without installing it. I restarted my pc and pressed the required key (delete). Now where do I go? Also if you know, how do I install it on the harddrive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I heard that investment interest are deductible against my income tax...is this true? I am planning to borrow a small amount of money from my family member to make investments into various blue chip stocks, and I will pay an interest of 5.75% per year to that person. Also, would I have to issue a 1099-INT for the family member I borrow the money from or would it not be necessary since I am borrowing the money on a individual level and not as a corporation/entity as part of ordinary course of business? He works at a store on a busy corner and this happened around 3 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon while he was working. Would you think it was some random thing or that someone who knew him had a grudge? My husband acts like he has no idea who did it and he wasn't interested in calling the police to file a report. I ended up calling the police to see if there was some gang-activity in that area, which they said there has not been.

My s10 with a 2.5 is knocking and I believe its just a wrist pin knock but it could possible be a bearing knock, the thing is when you hit the gas pedal it almost goes away and you really only hear it when the engine is at idle.

im 15 & my parents are divorced. I heard my mom & her boyfriend doing it. help! they are so loud! i tried going downstairs & i cant still hear it. no matter where i go, i can hear them. neighbors have been complaining about how loud they are. what should i do? im so grossed out! everytime he is over, they are at it. i cant play any music. im not aloud. i will get introuble. i dont have earplugs. sometimes at night, i wake up & hear them. they have been doing it for an hour & they still are. whats wrong with them. i dont want to tell mom this. help! im so grossed out! im never going to have sex!
