If you were about to have an important transition in your life, what is the best way to inform people? This would be an event such as:
pregnancy, engagement, promotion or termination, a death, you're coming out of the closet, you realised your were adopted, etc.

Is email an appropriate way to send and receive this information? Is Snail Mail more appropriate? Would it be more proper to make telephone calls instead? Should these things be reported in person (if possible)? How would you do it?

i am supposed to be married to a very close knitted family with very strong values, something which i have been wishing for since young. yet, i found my in-laws unbearable, whatever "good" gestures they try on me seem to be very imposing and Im extremely sensitive to their presence in my life. My husband is sandwiched & he has been trying unsuccessfully to reconcile any misunderstanding. I cannot stand the sight or thought of them. i told him i wanted absolutely no contact. Am i normal? Am i the unreasonable one? what can i do to like & to accept them? oh, i feel so mean and wicked!

I am going to install self stick tiles over linoleum and I have a few spots that need filled. I was wondering if drywall joint compound would work to fill in the small gaps. The room where the tiles are being installed is a bathroom.

My wife and I are going through separation - she has applied for a new tax disc for the car that she drives - this car was bought by me and registered in my name as the registered keeper on the V5 (Log book). When she applied for a new tax disc she also changed the name on the V5 to her name without notification to me or consent from me, I received a letter from the DVLA saying 'thank you for letting us know that you are no longer the registered keeper of this vehicle - so clearly the change has been made by my wife acting as me without my knowing about it.

Where do I stand and what are the possible penalties to my wife for what she has done?

Many thanks

Dark Carnation

at night I lay listening
to the rain and the world below
my heart's a dark carnation
sensuously brushing against your window

close your eyes, my love
listen to the whispering rain
my heart's a dark carnation
fervant reds sifting through your pane

oh, feel the earth spinning spinning
as I slowly weave into your dreams
my heart's a dark carnation
from which a bounteous passion streams

close your eyes, open your eyes
feel the whole of my love raining down on you
my heart's a dark carnation
sailing for miles, its centre of fire to you

quickly now before the dawn
close your eyes, my desire and my sweet
my heart's a dark carnation
a thousand flowers between your breast and feet

I have begun to get very stiff and sore in my hands, and think that it is arthritis. My mother has it in her fingers and they are very deformed and for want of a better word 'ugly' Luckily for her, she does not have any pain, due she believes to the fact that she was a knitter for many years.

I have noticed that my hands get very stiff upon waking and I am finding that I do not have as much strength in them. However, as I am only 41, I am hoping that there may be something I can do to prevent my hands looking like my mums, and as I am not a knitter I fear that I will have more pain than her.

thanks

If unbelief is a religion, then why can't I have a tax-free house to live in?

A BIG one, with a steeple and loud bells, and a large hall where I can preach my message -- oh, and maybe a few statues of Dawkins and Darwin that, once a year on Easter Sunday, weep real tears.

Is that too much to ask?

I think the only requirement should be owners of bars and restaraunts should have to post a sign on the entrance saying the are "a smoke friendly establishment" or if not a No Smoking sign. In advertisments they should also specify if they allow somking or not. This will give everyone the freedom of choice.

It`s not fair that the government is making the ban. It should be strictly the owners decision on all policies. He or she is the owner and it`s no different than allowing smoking in your house or not.

NOBODY has the RIGHT to a smoke free bar or restaraunt. If you don`t like smoke you can choose another place to go.

If the central balks didn't intervine in the markets, what would happen?

I have heard something about 'sub prime' loans going bad in the US. If the markets hadn't stepped in to help, what would have happened?
