Sadly it does look bleak and theyve started to suggest that she might be dead. In some ways the publicity could have been a bad thing. I believe that the potential "kidnapper" could have planned to sell her back to the parents for money but it went wrong because of the publicity.
He would either have killed her and ran or hopefully he is very greedy and is waiting for it to die down and then sell her.

The police will always know more than what we'll ever know because they need to protect the other citizens.
When someone goes missing for a couple of months, the outcome is generally not good.
I think that the police know more than they're telling us, and I hope that they do find the little girl alive, but I just don't understand how madeiline's mum and dad can stay so positive.
I think that I'll be shocked if they find her alive and I think that's a horrible thing to say.

It's been so long now that I think the possibility of her being found at all is getting less day by day. There are rumours now in the press that she might have been killed?
I have said this right from the word go. I think the parents did have something to do with her disappearance and that they know wher she is the poor thing.
It would be nice though if they did find her and she was ok.

I don;t think we will ever know what really happened here, just like the case of poor Ben Needham (although there was nowhere near as much publicity) I do hope in my heart of hearts that she is found, whether it be alive or dead, just to put an end to all the speculation once and for all. the important thing is justice is done for Madeleine and whoever is responsible is punished accordingly.

If the blood specks in the room turn out to be Maddy's then at least we will know she was attacked in the room and she is dead.(linking evidence found by the cadaver dog ) Also we don't yet know the results of the forensic tests on the hire car used by the MCCanns. I think the police will soon get the missing pieces of the jigsaw and the case will then come to a swift end.

I agree with you, bleak is the perfect word.
All these sightings especially the one recently in Belgium made me think 'Maybe this is her!' but when they all are rejected as being so, you start to lose hope and expect that the next one won't be either.
I have every one of my fingers and toes crossed that she'll have her safe return.
Anyway,
thanks..

It took over six months for police in the U.S. to figure out that Ricky Holland's parents killed him, they put on such a good act and had so much sympathy from a gullible public (no thanks to the media). It was only by putting intense pressure on the parents - individually - that the crime was solved (when the father finally broke down in interrogation and told what they'd done with the body).
Let's hope the search for Madeleine does not take that long.

I believe the police knows what happened and who did it - I don't think she'll be found alive...-, but they need really consistent evidence to prove and accuse without leaving a bit of doubt.

The Portuguese police keep taking everybody to the edge Katy, then backing off. I'm getting lost in all this now. I only know that Gerry McCann is an insincere, manipulating, self-serving, self-obsessed, attention-seeking money grubbing man.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Munchausen's Syndrome by proxy. Please will the powers-that-be investigate this aspect of St Gerry's personality?

Yes, i think the police are very close to a breakthrough, I'm certain she's dead, and i believe her parents role in this will soon be determined.
