I am a 33 year old divorced father of two girls whom I have two days a week and every other weekend. I love them dearly and am quite involved in their lives.
My girlfriend is 28 and has never been married and has no kids. We have been together a year now and I want to propose marriage.
However she is really struggling with the idea of becoming a step-mother. It scares her. She has read two books about being a step-mom...and one specifically about going from single to step-mom, but they raise more fear and concern.
I want to encourage her, but I do not know how. I could use some help from all you women who went from single to step-mom. I need some positive encouragement and ways to make this not so scary for her.

Fart accusations are tricky. You don't want to start blaming every one cause then you bring light upon yourself. When some one breaks wind or toots if you will, why do people always want to find the guilty party. I think they should build a machine you could hook up to a watch and it would sniff out the perpetrator, excuse the pun.

I have 3 brothers.
One is 8 and he values his toy guns and playstation time.
One is 10 and he has a lot of stuffed animals that he enjoys making fighters out of. And he talks alot.
One is 15 and he loves his music (including Akon, Timberland, and various rappers and a very little rock, surprisingly).

They have been extra annoying lately. I think they want my attention, especially since I tend to block them out...But, if it's my attention they want, it's my attention they'll get. I just need some HARMLESS ideas, please. Oh, and pay close attention to the fact that I said HARMLESS; I don't want anyone to get hurt.

oh, and if it helps to know, I am the second oldest.

Do they go to hell?
Do they go to heaven?
Do they stay on Earth and become spirits of the damned? If so then where do they end up at the END?

I'm curious because Darwin said he did not believe in God, but then he WAS brought up as a Christian. He renounced his religion BUT was GOOD all his life even though his controversial ideas did not harm people physically.

So where do people like these go? I'm assuming he is athiest. So the real question would be where do ATHEISTS go?

okay I have had several recomendations and had hearsay from people about thier babys doctors. I want to know how to scheduale an appointment like an "interview" with several different pediatritions before i just choose one. i want to know what questions should i ask to get a well formed opinion about weather or not i want this person caring for my childs health. One thing i know to ask (since im having a boy) is thier feelings on circumsicion. (some find it barbaric and i dont) im not sure how to go about any of this, this is my first child.
also i want to know about if the pediatrition has to come to the hospital to do the circumsicion or if my OB or a staff member at the hospital does it, or does it vary from place to place? i figured id get some answers here first so i know what to ask when i speak to my own doctor and then interview pediatritons.

I have been working at a retail shop for a while now and have wanted to quit for some time. The reason why I have stayed is for the money. The people are very unfriendly and have at times treated me as well as other employees like we are 2 years old. I have received my schedule for next week and am only scheduled for under 6 hours of work. This is suprising and shocking to me since I have been scheduled over the past couple weeks for 20+ hours. In addition I feel I am a great employee. I have come in as early as 7am to help with new items being brought into the store. I have never complained about early or late work hours or last minute changes. I am really thinking about quitting it has lately seemed that they do not appreciate me or my work ethic. The positives of quitting would be that it would give me a real kick in the pants to find something and spread my wings and find something I could really build as a career. The negative aspect no immediate money coming in.

Just a curious question.

How would one travel and what would be their resident status?

This all stemmed from a discussion regarding females in the UAE who lose their citizenship if they marry someone who is not a UAE national. What would this person do? Her parents must be UAE locals so she would not have ties to any other country.

I would like to report a lawyer to the Virginia State Bar?
How do I do that.

I am in Utah and I hired a lawyer to handle a warrent I have in Virginia. I told him going out there was impossible and I wanted to find out if there was a way to handle it with a lawyer. I had already researched it. I paid him $1000 and 6 weeks later called him. He told me the exact same things I told him when I first hired him. I wrote an e-mail a few days later asking for an itemized bill. Here is his reply:

Dear Mrs XXX,

"In criminal matters, I do not do itemized bills nor do I work at an hourly rate. All fees are flat quotes as was yours of $2,000.00. You paid me $1,000.00 and I researched and investigated the matter for you. I will accept the $1,000.00 as payment in full and will not refund any monies to you."

How do I report him?
