If you yourself claim to be a christian, the first thing you need to remember is don't question everything, don't quest for deeper knowledge of the truth, let faith guide you through if you want to remain the same. What I am saying is the more inquisative you are into these faiths, the more you will study, and you will start wanting to read books by other authors explaining religions, and you will end up with more questions than when you started.
To simply answer your question, doing away with all other variables than the christian religion, if the concept of God, and Jesus dying on the cross for everyones sins is explained and this person still does not believe, according to the scriptures when he dies he will go to Hell whether he chose to believe or not.
Now as to your last question, where do athiests go?
Well if we are to truly believe in the Bible and Marry our sisters, and go to war in the name of God for land, and if the talking donkey doesn't convince them, then I guess they would end up in Hell too.

Assuming you're asking our of real curiosity and not with the motive to try and tangle people up on a technicality ...
Theoretically speaking, it depends on whether Darwin himself ever made a profession of faith to Christ during that point of Christian influence in his youth.
If somone never does - Hell it is.
If they do - Heaven.
If they do at one point and then later decide they dont really believe after all, they will go to Heaven.
I say this because God makes a promise to a human who accepts Christ. And whether a human goes back on it or not, God won't - because He doesn't break a promise.

If a person does not believe in god then when he dies maybe he will go to hell unless before he dies he confess and ask god to forgive him, if he does then maybe he may go to heaven, but I am not here to judge because god is the only judge here.Dont follow what Darwin said you seek him while you can. Ask him to come into your life and start to live a christian life because heaven is a real place, a place of everlasting life and hell is a real place, a place of everlasting punishment.

Judaism is very clear that belief in G-d is **not** required to have a place in the world to come. One only has to be a good person, defined as someone who at a minimum follows the seven Noahide laws.
In fact, there's a famous Chassidic story about a man whose rabbi said that everything in the world can be used in the service of G-d. "But rabbi," said the man, "even denying G-d's very existence?". "Yes," replied the rabbi, "for in that case you can't count on G-d for the goodness in the world. You have to act as though everything depends upon you."

i believe that if you are a good person, you will not be damned, or punished.
anyone who takes their religion too literally, that if you don't believe then you go to hell, - i call them extremest,
some of them tend to take matters in to their own hands, by treating outsiders like crap, looking down on them, beating them, blowing them up, & so on and so forth.
this is my belief and many others: to treat others with respect , be nice, be fair, be giving, caring, etc.
don't judge others. - we as humans can't ever see the full picture - you don't know people fully, you don't know their backgrounds, or what they have accomplished in life.
so who are these people to say if you go to hell or not.
*you can believe in what you wish, but you should respect others & their beliefs.

Well according to most Christian doctrine, we are born with original sin, and due to our nature we cannot help but sin throughout the course of our lives. God wants nothing to do with sin, so people that die with sin on their slate gravitate to Hell for eternity. Accepting and believing in Christ can present Christ's clean slate as their own, and God admits them into Heaven.
Catholics take it a step further and argue that even that isn't quite good enough, and an individual must spend a period of time in Purgatory to completely wash their soul clean of all sin. Then they earn admittance into Heaven.
I'm not terribly well versed in Islamic or Jewish doctrine, but it appears to be that theirs is more of a penance-oriented faith. i.e. if you commit sin, you can be absolved of it through faithful acts. Don't quote me on that though.

The bible is not clear on this, and different sects teach different things (and all claim scriptural support). We know for certain that all people will be judged - but the results of that judgment are known only to God.
As for Darwin - he was not good all his life, nor have you or I been. What in the world made you think so?
I hope this helps.

In Judaism if a person does not believe in G-d but still lives a good life they go on to heaven
So atheists who still live a good life would go to heaven, according to Judaism
