Should professional athletes be tested for marijuana?

it doesn't seem to give them an advantage, probally a disadvantage. They test for them now like in the NHL, NFL, UFC.... but I think let it go. Ricky Williams was good, so he smokes a little weed. Nick Diaz (UFC) MMA Fighter another. Thoughts?

Why do some people call Thomas Paine a liberterian when he was clearly a LIBERAL?

in the modern sense of the word?

In his Rights of Man, Agrarian Justice, and Age of Reason, founding father Thomas Paine argues for:
- public education for every single child
- a pension system for the elderly
- a minimum wage
- the right to bargain
- secular government
- progressive taxes (meaning shift taxes to the rich)
and even
- a government work program

I have a 6 month review and I want to know about a raise...?

Ok so I came to this current company whilst they were in a panic and masses of paperwork. I work for the 2nd largest foster /Adoption company in CA. In 6 month's I have completly taken control of surroundings and have calmed waters. We had a CCL audit (Community Care Licensing) and passed with flying colors and they knew that all credit was owed to me.... Now they are saying a raise may not be at the 6 month mark unless we feel it's necessary? I was almost offended, Do I start job hunting? or stick it out? I am a single mother and I take pride in my work, Bottom line is, I need this extra $$ urgently to stay afloat.

Aggressive High Fin Plec?

Hi

i have a 1yr yr old high fin which is approximatly 10inch. He has been in a community tank from day one. However i recently just had him and a spiny eel in a tank as we are moving.

Recently the plec has become aggresive towards the eel even though theyve been together for the yr. I introduced a 14" senosedontis and well it was like a flammin world war. In the end i had to take the senosedontis back out.

Now the plec is 100% aggresive towards the eel. Any idea why and if this will calm off?

The Mafia of Italy are devout practicing Catholics but are also responsible for most acts of organised crime. They accept Jesus as their saviour, attend church regularly and go to confession, do all the Christian things a Christian is supposed to do except not sin.

what should i do for christmas to put on the christmas table?

i was going to put gifts on top for the guys i was thinking calones or wallets and for the women i was going to do dvd for christmas pictures in the dvd will have past christmas pictures and music in back ground but for the guys iam not sure

Candle making?

This is for anybody who makes candles, either for a business or a hobby. I want to start making candles at home. I have a few questions about this, sorry if I sound stupid: Can you use the same pouring pot for many different candles with different scents and colors? If so, how would you get all the wax from each candle out of the pot to start another one without scraping the pot for hours? Do you HAVE to use a scale? Can anybody give me some tips or suggestions about scents, techniques, etc.? Also, I don't know if somebody local to where I live has came up with this, but I have a candle that is called "Butt Naked"! I don't know if somebody has changed the name of this scent or made up their own. Would anybody know what scents are in this candle? I would really appreciate any advice, instructions, or anything anybody could tell me about candle making at home. Gift ideas or anything. Thanks!

Whats wrong with my girlfriend cutting herself?

My girlfriend cuts about every week and every time i tell her i dont want her doing it she says that theres nothing wrong with it and she cant actaully die because of it, and i cant find any reason she shouldn't. Is there a reason why she shouldn't?

Dog behavior change?

I have a 7 yr old basset hound. He has always been a lil coward I guess you would say(well unless he's behind a gate lol) I mean a couple months ago the repair man came over to fix our shower and the dog just sat there and shook. But today the lil girl I watch and her grandma walked in while I was sitting on my bed(they always just walk in I leave the door unlocked for them) and he just started barking and howling and growling at them I had to have him calm down and show him that they were ok its just weired behavior for him he is scared of everything and only barks at the sheets and pillows lol

Could this be because I'm pregnant I mean he hasn't been treating me any different well he'll try and cuddle with me more often but thats a whole other story

I need help finding the perfect song(s)..can someone help me?

I am going through the worst time in my life right now. My father just got out of the hospital due to a car accident. My boyfriend is cheating on me. I am in debt 1000.00 dollars and I feel like I want to end my life. Music is my window to the world and I have nothing else to live for. I love photography as well and I have been going through some of my old art work and pictures I took in highschool. I was a very happy person in my late teens. concidering that i am only 20 now. I write and keep to myself all the time and I just wish that there was some other way to ease the pain and suffering. Like talking to a total stranger. Lately i have used drugs and alcohol to make me feel better. I smoked weed for the first time last week and I havent stopped. I just wish there was another way that i could feel better with out going to therepy or a pshyciatrist. Please anyone help me.

Is it even possible to repair an external hard drive?

I have a SimpleTech 160 GB external hard drive. Its making a quiet "buzzzz-click" noise. Tech support says it is defective and needs replacement. (of course!) Ive taken it apart and banged it on the table a couple of times. Any better suggestions?
