Dime A Dozen

Means an item (or person) is commonplace and cheaply had. For sale cheap. If something is a dime a dozen, then it costs less than a penny each. It's not fine and unique.

It means common or more exactly, cheap. Think about it, if you can buy a dozen for a dime then it cost less then a penny. After all pennies are 12 cents a dozen.

Easy to find or too many. If someone says that actors are "a dime a dozen," that means that there are a lot of them.
