I believe that to condone the use of torture is to render oneself liable to torture.
Those at present subject to torture are predominately 'suspects'. As the person subjected to torture is, in the end, prepared to say whatever he thinks the interrogator wants to hear, he may well implicate you. You as a suspect are then liable to torture.

I could expand on this but I think it conveys my general reasoning.

Can any of you convince me that torture should be used as an implement of state policy.

Jesus was approached by John in the book of Mark, the same story is in Luke.

Mark 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

Mark 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

Mark 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Same story in Luke:

Luke 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Do you know nothing?
These are the words of God himself.
Tolerance and respect are the parents of Love.

Since Jesus teaches this any contradiction by later writers is a misinterpretation by the believer or reflects ulterior motive of the author. Paul had ple

The word “Messiah” is an English rendering of the Hebrew word “Mashiach”, whose translation is “Anointed”. It usually refers to a person initiated into G-d’s service by being anointed with oil. (Having oil poured on his head. Cf. Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3).

There are many Messiahs in the Bible. Since every King and High Priest was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as “an anointed one” (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: “G-d forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the L-rd’s Messiah [Saul]...” I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6.

Jesus is called THE MESSIAH because he was to be the last and final Israelite Prophet who was sent as a last chance redemption for the Jews who had killed so many Prophets.

If they were to deny him (even after a miracle birth and show of miracle healings etc) then an eternal curse would be put upon them.

The Quran also calls Jesus the Messiah for the Jews.

Islam also says that those who denied Jesus was a true messenger and Prophet (Messiah) ----- will be sent a “False Messiah” near the last days as a final Punishment.

Those who join him will be on the side of EVIL and those who oppose him will be on the side of Good.

This False Messiah will rule from Jerusalem and will be the most EVIL leader to come in the history of mankind.

Below is a link to the Quranic verses where Jesus is called the Messiah :

My ex is very difficult and i usually have to deal directly with his attorney to get anything handled. I have not received anything from her stating she is no longer representing him even though we havent had anything go on for some time. Doesnt she still legally represent him until she signs off through the courts stating she is no longer representing him? I am getting the runaround as to if he is still being represented.

For me the last time was for the mass on the day of my godfather/uncle's burial. Prior to that it had been 7 years since I've been in any church but the last church I was in was a Protestant church. The last time I was in a Catholic church prior to my godfather/uncle's burial was when I was 13 years old. Anyway I'm thinking of attending a mass this Sunday but I'm a bit nervous as I know that I will feel lost when it comes time to the prayers and whatnot. What advice can you give me if any at all? By the way I'm thinking of attending a Catholic mass. What do they do in mass? I know I must sound foolish. Do they hand out any bibles or whatnot for mass?
