this is something you need to talk to your doctor about and soon. going without enough sleep is dangerous. we sleep for a reason and that is for the brain to rest so that we stay mentally healthy. please make an appointment asap and see what your doctor can do for you.

Wow, I wish I had that... I sleep waaaay too much!
To answer your question - (which I am not very clear about) - I think your mind works even when you are asleep... I guess that's how we get dreams and stuff. I dont' think we have the option of turning off our minds when we sleep.
Some people tend to sleep little because they get nightmares and stuff like that. If that is the problem, you could take some cold medicine (like Nyquil) or something. See if it helps. But I wouldn't suggest this because it's not a healthy way to solve the problem you have..... Your problem could be because of stress, or because you have way too many things on your mind. If that's the case, maybe you could talk to a psychologist? I'm sure they would get right down to the problem and help you solve it.
If you just have insomnia, then, maybe you could talk to a doctor and find out a way to get rid of it. Do you exercise a lot? If you do, you will have the tendency of feeling very tired and sleeping soundly at nights. Maybe you could try that....
I started exercising to shed some pounds, and I think that might be the reason why I am sleeping without getting disturbed the least bit these days.......
I dunno if this stuff helped, but either way, I feel you should talk to someone who can help......

Hi Adrienne. I can sympathize. I think it is our age. Sometimes I get up and walk around for a few minutes and it helps a little. Are you religious? I find that the best way to help myself is to pray. I just ask God to hold all my thoughts and worries for me so I can sleep. I say Jesus please help me. I need to sleep. Take care of all these thoughts for me so my mind can rest.
It really helps me to sleep.
Also, try drinking a cup of chamomile tea before bed. It's very relaxing. And a cool shower helps lower your body temperature so you can sleep.

It sounds like you have anxiety. Either go see a therapist, or go get some non addictive sleeping pills. It's going to take a big toll on your body if you don't correct this. No sleep=Lots of stress. Good luck, and best wishes!

Are you stressed? this may be the one reason as to why you are having difficulty sleeping.
you can try herbal remedies (honey and water) or herbal sleeping tablets. Exercising will also exhuast the body, then you will be able to sleep better
Hope it helps

Take some benedryl (it's in the allergy section of your local pharmacy). It is over-the-counter, cheap, effective, and non-addictive. You need to get some sleep so you can think more clearly. That needs to be your first order of business right now.

Give instructions to your mind to avoid all evil thoughts and start preying GOD. The recitation of poems related to GOD will help you sound sleep. Avoid late sleeping.
