I obviously can't check the display settings because it doesn't show anything but that blue box flashing here and there. Anyone know what could be wrong?

-Having to withdraw US troops before he can cut & run from the White House in 2009? OR

-Having the Iraqi Shiites & Kurds winning the war on terror in Iraq w/o any US military assistance (due to their withdraw)?

FYI: Shiites & Kurds hate Sunni Al Qaeda/insurgents as much as Americans.

I have been involved in theatre since my sophomore year of high school. I have done lights (both setting and running the board), set construction, stage manager, floor/run crew, assistant director, and assistant prop master. I am interested in pursuing a career in technical theatre and I'm just wondering what the best way to do that is? Do I need to go to college and major in theatre? Is there a way to get a job in the field without finishing college? I'm from a small town in the midwest, do I need to move to the coast or to a bigger city? Thank you in advance for your advice!

My brother recently left his wife after she cheated on him twice and he tried to work it out. Since all three of his children's birth he has been the primary caretaker. He has stayed home with them 24/7 . Basically a stay at home dad . No jobs. No vacations. The real deal. His wife has no idea even how to fix their hair or take care of them because he has not done it for so long.
He intends to divorce her and move in with another woman he has met a little after they split. His new partner backs him 100% and is willing to take in the children. The children live with their mother in New York but are absolutely miserbale and talk to my brother about 4 hours a day. There ages range from 5 - 8 . My brother had to leave due to his soon to be ex wife's new found violent nature. She cut him with a broken beer bottle at one point.
My question is , Can he file custody from California with the kids in New York with their mother?

I just watched a dvd of the movie Swimming Upstream and I am fascinated with the rusty things on the beach, I assume they are remains of WWII ships. Can anyone tell me exactly where they are and where I could find some more photos of them.

I mean since we are there to "liberate" them and all shouldn't what they want for their country be a consideration? If so why are we still there when over 70% of the population says life is worse than under Saddam and they want us to leave, Malaki has said just this week they can provide for their own security without us, so why are we staying?

I have dish network with DVR service and I enjoy the service just fine, and want to continue with it. I wonder if there is a storage device that can be added to move files from my receiver. There are several reasons:

I have timers for a lot of shows that have been on awhile but I never watched them. As such, selecting "new" it would never record. Selecting "all" it records everything including what I already saw and deleted. A different machine would allow me more time to weed them out without running out of recording capacity.

Plus this would be something I own, so I could collect documentaries, concerts, etc without missing shows that are coming in and get deleted right off. Kind of like some people collect DVDs you don't watch them all the time, but there is an accumulation.

When I do forego my dish subscription, the shows I have collected will be on a machine that I don't have to return.

The finals of the National Poetry Contest last year came down to two finalists. One was a Duke University Law School graduate from an upper crust family; well-bred, well-connected, and all that goes with it. The other finalist was a redneck from Southeast Alabama A&M.
The rules of the contest required each finalist to compose a four-line poem in one minute or less, and the poem had to contain the word "Timbuktu".
The Duke graduate went first. About thirty seconds after the clock started he jumped up and recited the following poem:
Slowly across the desert sand
Trekked the dusty caravan.
Men on camels, two by two
Destination-Timbuktu.
The audience went wild!!! How, they wondered, could the redneck top that?! The clock started again and the redneck sat in silent thought. Finally, in the last few seconds, he jumped and recited:
Tim and me, a-huntin' went.
Met three whores in a pop-up tent.
They was three, we was two,
So I bucked one and Timbuktu.
