at least your not looking for love at that age 42 some people are and it's sad cuz they think their old and they say oh no it's to late for me now.
you could live it up i mean just because your going on to 42 doesn't mean your that old
how old are your kids 12 or what who says ancient anymore 42 is the age were you can do anything and wear anything (with in the age limit)anytime you want live it up, it's the new 30 cuz 50 is old lady not 42
beside your probably just having a mid live crisis everybody gets though right
yeah i feel old but what is old a state of mind or what

right so make it what you want to make not your kids
(ancient come one they wouldn't know what ancient is if their grandma came up from the dead and slap them all)

sorry about that last comment but sometimes you just should listen to your kids

I turned 30 four years ago, and on that day my girlfriend made it clear that our age gap was too great. She was 22 at the time. It made me freak. I was old! In my misery i went out drinking, and at some point that evening i fell into conversation with a lady of about 65. She laughed at me when i told her, i wasn't old she told me, just not a child anymore. I would be just about ripe in another ten years or so. We live in a world where youth dominates the media, but in fact you may not, if you are an interesting person, even know what you want until you are in your 30's of 40's. You are in the strength years, enjoy them, make the most of being ripe.

Im 38 and for a while I started to dread the approach of 40.
And then I imagined how old I would feel if I were approaching 60 or 70 and realised I was wasting my still youthful years worrying!!you are still young.Infact at the prime of your life!

Im only 26, there are moments (few mind) when I feel Im old (or older? lol). My lil sis thinks Im old.

old isnt a number, its a feeling. the rest are concious thoughts that follow the feeling. or a perspective, used often to decribe a visual or percieved diffrence. "old before your time" oft used to describe someone who is wise for their age or perhaps way too stressed lol. "you must be getting older" often used when someone just cant keep pace, or is loosing accuracey. and lots of other phrases. One Im noticing is "I think Im getting older" as I notice that somethings are diffrent to when .... lol

the number business is a measurement of the number of years lived - or age. and has nothing to do with how you feel

What I guess you should feel, is that your you - so carry on doin that! lol

Oh, to be so young!
Some say that "feeling old" is relative.
Me, I think it all depends upon how your day, and hence, your life, are going. If everything is going fine, then you will probably not feel "old". If, however, every day is a struggle (with bills, relatives, the boss, etc., one can really feel old in almost no time!
While I don't feel "old", every morning my joints tell me that I am not young!

I have felt old since I passed 30 and looked out of place at disco's. (I am 55 now).

At my age it is horrible to feel quite young inside, not much different to 20 years ago, but looking in the mirror is like looking at someone else much older than I am.

What my kids and other people say adds to the feeling too.

I was 59 on Saturday and I am looking forward to what my 59th year brings with even great enthusiasm than I did on my 19th birthday. This is going to be a good year for me no matter what life throws at me. My body is definitely not as active as it was when I was 19, but my mind, knowledge, understand and experience is greatly superior.

No!
I do sometimes wonder who that old crone is who jumps between me and the mirror, and why my husband is getting so old when I'm not.
Gosh! If your kids think you're old (you're younger than my daughter) what would they think of me?
Tell them I still scoot the supermarket trolley across the carpark when nobody is looking! Is that old?

Come on....just think of all those people in the world whose life expectancy is half yours and of those who will never have the opportunity to access the internet...

Someone once told me age only matters if you are cheese, do not think of age as a problem and it wont be. Your kids will always think that you are old, did you not think that your parents were really old even though they were probably only 30.
