I have a 1988 Ford Ranger V6 2.9L Standard Cab. I have noticed here within the past few weeks that the price of gas in my car is changing. Yes I know that the gas prices are constantly changing but what I mean is the amount that I put in my truck. Here about 2 weeks ago I my gas gauge was RIGHT ON THE EMPTY MARK so I filled it completely up for $25 then about a week later it said it had half a tank and that I filled it up for $20 then I filled it up the other day for $20 when it was at 1/4 of a tank left. My guess was that my gas gauge is messed up, so I started calling body shops and mechanics and they said that I would need to replace the sending unit. My local Ford Dealer said it would be a $161 dollar part, and it came with the fuel pump as well. Well I have a LMC Truck magazine and the same part is $119.95
Ok next one of the body shops that I talked to said it would need a sending unit but he also said something about there is another sending unit in the gas tank, and that has
