The Senate has just passed cloture on the immigration reform bill. Despite more than seventy percent of THE PEOPLE, not wanting this bill, our congress has decided they know better.
Despite an unprecidented uproar, this bill will move on. It is a sad day indeed.

I know alot of people on here never hear about the good news coming from Iraq. Most people on here base their ideas off of all the negative reporting on the news. All of the kids at my school say that I am spoiled. Just because, I live in a 4 level house, my bedroom has 2 floors, an ocean view, and it has a kitchen, a little waterfall, a bathroom with a jacuzzi, four closets for my clothes, one closet for purses, 2 closets for my shoes, and one closet for my make-up and sunglasses. And I have 3 cell phones (so they can match my outfits) and I have a 1.5 acre pool and a sauna and I own 2 Range Rovers, 1 mustang convertible, 2 Porsches, and my family owns a 6500 sq. foot yacht. I don't think that I am spoiled. Am I really spoiled?

Air coming out of vents is 20 degrees lower than outside air. Thermostat set at 71. Temp in house is bouncing between 74 and 75. Outside temp is 90. We've never had problems before this year. Had a freon charge. Turned it on yesterday evening. Temp was 86 in house. Fan outside has been running for 16 hours. Changed filter. Cleaned coils. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance!

i had a son when i was 15 and my mother always took care of him. he was never a problem for me to go out or do anything i wanted. i was also able to go to school. my mother did not really let me act like a mother. my stepfather is in the army and had to move to germany then romania where he is originally from, so they decided to move and wanted to take my son, i said yes because i did not want to go and i did not know with whom i was going to stay here. i did not want my son to be moving from one place to another and wanted him to be in a stable place until i was able to get a place and be able to care for him without anyones help. i've been talking to him to see if he wants to come back to america he does not want. am i a bad mother for letting my mother do whatever she wants with him?

I am perplexed so maybe someone can help me out... Why is it that when John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelations after seeing "visions" and "hearing voices" people put his writing in the Bible and claimed his work to be the "word of God" but when someone from modern times says that they see "visions" or "hear voices" we call them psycho or frauds? I mean, the Bible was written by people who stated that they "heard the word of God". If I or anyone else for that matter claimed to hear God we would be sent to a mental institution. I was raised Catholic and had to go to church a lot. I used to read the Bible and sing the songs but as I got older I realized that a lot of what I was hearing and reading seemed no different then a fairytale. I do believe in a Divine spirit I just don't believe that they wrote the Bible. I believe that men wrote the Bible and it is now used to scare people into submission.

We bought our home through an auction and set up a contract of deed with the landlord.We are on a 5 yr ballon note w/10% APR. Citi has offered to consolidate a loan that we currently have with them and also the amount we are paying for our home. They will combine the two payments making it one payment which is great and extremely helpful to our financial situation. However, the APR is going to be 11% with a fixed rate for 30 yrs.
I spoke with a bank in my home town and there APR is 6-7%, way lower. However, considering our credit rating I highly doubt we would be approved.
I am wanting to do some upgrading and consolidate a few debts we have. Is there a loan that will allow all of this together. From what I understand we can only get a loan for what the house is appraised at. Considering the house needs a lot of work done to it I highly doubt that it will be worth what we are paying for it. From what my fiance says we are giving more than its worth.
