Sounds like dead or stuck pixels- a common problem with LCD monitors. Dead pixels are not an issue you can fix. You just have to learn to live with it...
Supposedly you can fix stuck pixels:

Some manufactures offer dead-pixel warranties... You could try to see if Lenovo has such warranty for your laptop. But don't bank on it, most manufacturers don't offer warranties nor do they fix or replace monitors with dead pixels.
Other than that, the only thing you can do if you cant work around it, is buy a new monitor- or in your case laptop.
I have a single verticle line of dead pixels on my monitor- but its off to the side and doesn't interfere with my abilit to work so I haven't gotten rid of the monitor yet.

Is the white vertical line always there, even at boot up? If so then it's either a problem with the LCD screen and you wouldn't be able to fix that or your video card.
It could also be a problem with the connectors inside. Sometimes dust can cause funny things so it might be fixable. A can of compressed air might help.
Sometimes the actual connectors that connect the ribbon cables running to your LCD display go bad or come loose. Sometimes if they weren't attached correctly they can decay starting from that point. (This is not repairable by you and would need to be serviced by a professional)
You can check and see if there are new drivers for your video card. Perhaps even a bios update might fix it, if one is available. That can be tricky though.

Hi. Sometimes it is a loose cable in the hinge. If you can get at it, try to reseat the cable.
