I just want something to be done! The big-wigs in Washington have failed in the past 4 to 5 years to really address the big issues of our times, e.g. Social Security, immigration, etc. Instead, they spend their time writing bills for other trite things that really don't provide us with any kind of solutions to our society's problems. Sure they have accomplished some good things in the past couple of years. However, it seems that no one has the guts (Democrat or Republican) to actually make the tough choices that they are supposed to make as public servants!

It’s a toss up over who wants this bill; one website say nay, one say yay! One television program says we are all for it and turn the channel and you see the opposite. So I don’t agree with any of this poll bull. I agree with my immediate peers and the people around me!
The only ones around me I know who want this bill to pass are individuals to lazy to adopt the American Culture, and revoke theirs. When you want to become a citizen of a particular place, it is to be expected that you adopt THEIR culture, and revoke the culture you are familiar with. I do not mean you can never talk about you past, but that is what it is. PAST!
The problem with this bill passing is that the majority of the illegal immigrants in this country are Hispanic—and while they are all from different backgrounds they are as a whole similar and have their own very strong values that are just not the same as the American culture as a whole.
To have it nationally change our country as a whole is simply ludicrous—and as I am a citizen of this country I will fight for the rights to respect my land!

The legislature only acts the way they do because they do not hear from their constituents. Rather than learning the "secret" of invisibility, the American People have become mostly complacent, and that is why Congress takes it upon themselves to decide issues that they should be hearing from us on...

Can you show me a link that proves that 70% of Americans didnt want this bill? I think your stat may be way off. Most Americans were for this bill.
Unless of course your 70% was coming from the people on Y/A. Yes maybe then 70% of Y/A people didnt want this bill. But compared to the people of the USA that number is very small.
Thank you to the senate for passing the bill. Its due time they pulled their heads out of their @sses and did something right!!!!

The hope that overwhelming popular opposition would outwiegh the cartloads of money provided by special interests was always slight. But, still, it is sad to see further proof of the death of democracy in America.

Our Senate acts upon the will of the people. Perhaps there are not as many nay-sayers as the liberal media is reoprting. Could it be that perhaps the majority of the people want to see some immigration reform pass?

This is going to do one of two things;
1. Wake up the middle class and get them fighting again
2. Totally destroy the middle class forever.

All they did was end debate and filibuster. It will probably pass but lets wait for the real vote.

they are still debating on it. our next move is to demand they secure our border, enforce our immigration laws and to make English our official language.
