My mother hated bad language and sass, but she didn't believe in mouth soapings. Inspired by the Improv group Comedy Sportz, she created a "potty mouth" penalty in our house. When one of my sisters or I used bad language or said something disrespectful, etc. Mom would make us wear the brown paper grocery bag over our head for ten minutes. It was kind of like a portable "timeout." It was kind of embarrassing, especially when we got "bagged" with company or friends over. Has anyone had a similar experience of being punished with a paper bag?

To be more specific...The idea of a SINGULAR creation deity is illogical to me. I do see similarities between mammal and primate behavior and anatomy. And a few similarities between mammal and reptiles/birds. Not very many though. Even with millions of years to consider, primates seem to be relatively 'new' on the scene and don't seem to have that much in common with reptiles or birds. (Also, I thought I saw in an Archeology magazine, of the 'current' homo sapien skeleton's found, none are older than 6,000 years. Any info on this?)

There is a dark figure in our home -- it is just me (18) and my mother living here. It has only been here a few weeks (that we've seen) and we've lived here for 5 years. I wasn't afraid of it because I hadn't thought it was "evil."

But my mom swears that it slapped her last night, so is there a way we can get rid of it?

Two people in our family have died in the past month, but neither of them would hurt one of us.

Also, it's believed that a man committed suicide here years ago. But we don't understand why this is happening just now, if we've lived here for 5 years already.

Can it hurt us? Thank you in advance.

I bought my car last year from a local dealership. When i purchased my car it was at around 35,000 miles. When I took my car in for an oil change the people informed me that my car was due for services at 30,000 miles and asked if i would like them to go ahead and perform said services. I assumed that the services had already been done as i had just bought the car. Recently i took the car back to the dealership due to a service light being on, and their mechanic tried to sell me the 30,000 mile services. My car is currently at 45,000 miles and other then the electrical problem i just had fixed it runs well. Should i get the transmission flushed, i have read where sometimes it causes larger problems, and i have also read from certain places that they are not required and are just to pad the pockets of the mechanics. I have also read about how they are vital in maintining the life of a vehicle.

In otherwords, most people who attend church regularly will make you feel bad, condemned and seem perverted for enjoying masturbation, looking at nude bodies of the opposite sex, and other "carnal" pleasures.

However, you know that these same people fantasize about these things, as well as think and behave differently in private when their "church friends" do not see them and know what they are thinking. However, Jesus said our thoughts are equally as important but we all seem to lie to each other about enjoying pleasure. Why can't we just admit that we enjoy stimulation through sex, masturbation, and visual pleasure without making both single and married people in the church feel like dirt or scum if they openly admit it?

Married people seem to be particularly arrogant and condescending about this subject to the single members in the church.
