I have PCOS and my doctor just discovered that I am not ovulating because I have extremely low progesterone. I tested a 1. He wants me to start Clomid as soon as I get aunt flo. I take 1500mg Metformin daily. My question is, does the Clomid raise the progesterone level? If it did, were you successful in achieving pregnancy? I am soon to turn 40 and although the doc says that I'm nowhere near menopause I fear that my time is running short. If the Clomid doesn't work then I think ttc will be over for us. Success stories may help me get through this a little better. Thanks in advance for the help!

Why is it best to include more than one type of trait when building a phylogenetic tree?

I just saw a story in the news about a couple who left their 4-yr old and 2-yr old twins sleeping in a hotel while they went out to eat. They returned and Maddie (the 4-yr old) was gone. This was in Portugal.

Now, I disagree with their decision to leave the children, even asleep, for that long a period. But it made me wonder, how long is too long? One scenerio was brought up... if your kids are asleep and you're in the back yard enjoying a sunset with your spouse, and someone breaks in and steals the kids, does that make you a "bad parent" because the kids were alone in the house?

Or the mom who stepped only a couple yards away to return a shopping cart, only to return and find her child gone from her buckled car seat...

How far is too far? How long is too long? an What is this !!!! world coming to?

lots of other types of musicians don't do drugs, so why rock stars? is it because they have a more "adventurous" personality? but the thing that bothers me is that many musicians are very independent and DON'T follow the crowd and DON'T copy others...so why are so many rockers STILL doing drugs?!?! and then they go writing 50% of their songs about how evil drugs are(if they are still alive)! it annoys me:(

I have a new 10 gallon setup that I have been running for two weeks. I have two platies and 2 ghost shrimp and they are doing great. I have 3 artificial plants throughout the tank, as well as a small artificial tree stump with hiding places. I wanted to add in live plants, but is that something that has to be done with no fish in the tank, or can it be done with fish in the tank? Also, are there some types of plants that can be grown just in gravel?

I am looking for information for my friend whos husband has been using cortaid maxium strenth cream on his private areas when he found out he had no choice but to go to the doctor because she thinks it could possibly be herpes but since hes been using this cream the rash she says he has is gone. I have been researching infomation and cant seem to find what she is looking for and dont know what else to do..No where can i find infomation on herpes that says anything about the cream so i am hoping someone out there has info i can get and pass on to her. I told her i had heard that even with no type of rash they can do a blood test to test for that in the meantime to keep using protection. If anyone has any info you think may help her let me know so i can pass it on. Thanks.

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - Environmental activists are building a replica of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat—where the biblical vessel is said to have landed after the great flood—in an appeal for action on global warming, Greenpeace said Wednesday.
Turkish and German volunteer carpenters are making the wooden ship on the mountain in eastern Turkey, bordering Iran. The ark will be revealed in a ceremony on May 31, a day after Greenpeace activists climb the mountain and call on world leaders to take action to tackle climate change, Greenpeace said.
