i wonder whether buyers of fashion designs for the major high street stores or designers themselves are taking account of the views of, for instance, islam on how women should dress. the recent trend for patterned 70's style dresses over jeans or leggings not only looked bad, in my opinion, but was very modest. is there a subtle attempt to impose on western women the standards of modesty expected by ( some ) men of asian women ?

"hey i thought you were a vegetarian"
"i am"
"oh... but that thing on your fork, the thing your putting in your mouth, thats fish"
"yeah but fish doesnt count"

hmmm is a fish not as 'alive' as an animal? and another thing. how many so called vegetarians hate the cruelty of killing animals for food yet walk around with the skin torn from a dead cows body wrapped around their feet?!

So why do people continue to scream that the President is not listening to the people? In our form of government elected officials are elected and then are supposed to do what they believe is the right thing.

Are these people who want the president to listen to the people, do they want to change our form to a direct democracy?

If that is so, would they like to put things up to popular vote such as abortion, school vouchers, taxes, social security, definition of marriage, term limits on congress, environmental laws, hate crime law and on and on?

I believe the people screaming today about the President only want a direct democracy when it serves their partisan interests but would not like AMericans voting on other issues.

I was having displine issues and behavior (minor) problems with my two daughters ages 9 and 6. I am doing the calendar with stickers. Everyday they do good, they pick out a sticker before bed.

OMG the improvement after two weeks is unbeleiveable. Homework is done, no more back talking or lying, they are minding and getting along with each other. WOW. The magic stickers.

If you haven't tried this, you have to. If you do, share your experience.

The doctrine known as "eugenics" emerged in the late nineteenth-century as one response to the problems European nation-states faced. In an essay, explain how eugenics was related to both the work of Charles Darwin and the growth of nationalism. To what extent was it also connected to the emergence of a large, educated working class, continuing urban unrest, and changing gender roles for women and men? Can someone please help me understand this....

You know I work in a Middle School and I see how some of these kids talk. and treat each other. It is very sad we as parents fail miserably teaching our kids about these two things. If we did we wouldn't have all these predjiduces and we would treat our fellow man better. I mean we all our different weather were gay, bi, str8, black, white or what. We are failing at teaching our kids to love things that our different.

I have some old books, between 30 and 70 years old. How do I get rid of that "old book" smell? Any other tips for keeping them in order without spending too much? No, I'm not going to be putting them in a climate controlled, tinted glass vault.

I don't know about everyone else but sometimes when i'm tired I don't feel like loving thy neighbour.

Why bother making us to require sleep? What would a healthy amount of sleep be from a medical point of view? about 7-8 hours? thats a third of our day, and therefore a third of our lives wasted by sleep! What a wasteful God, think of how many of his teachings we could be following in that time!

(Please no 'the Lord works in mysterious ways', or 'why dont you ask him', or any other answers that ignore the question)
