hmmm is a fish not as 'alive' as an animal? and another thing. how many so called vegetarians hate the cruelty of killing animals for food yet walk around with the skin torn from a dead cows body wrapped around their feet?!

Wrong, vegetarians are not fools.
The person you use in your example is not a vegetarian. They are a meat eater.
Internationally Accepted Definition:
A vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat, fish, poultry or slaughter by-products.

Rather than dismiss us all as fools, why not just tell the person in the example what the internationally accepted defination of a vegetarian is ( see above ) . Then, if they still say they are veggies, you can call THEM a fool. But please, don't lump me in with thier deluded nonsense
tim, what does "Fish aren't mistreated or abused" mean ? I suppose killing then by air suffocation over an hour in a ships hold is what exactly ? The finest example of animal welfare, empathy and caring....possibly not.

Real vegetarians are not fools. People are misinformed at times.. sometimes through ignorance and sometimes they want to look good by saying they are vegetarian when they mean they do not eat red meat etc.
You cannot be a vegetarian if you eat animals. Animals include red meat animals, white meat animals, fish and animal by-products such as gelatine. Some cheese also contains by-products from animals such as animal derived rennet. Some cheese uses vegetable enzymes so again, check the labels before you buy.
The subject is not how well animals are treated before they are killed or if they suffer when they die. Any creature suffers to varying degrees and if you want to not eat animals then good for you. I have not eaten meat or animal products for over 45 years now and I have been vegan for around 7. Do what is right for you.

You're the fool here buddy. Vegetarianism is a choice, and that includes whether or not you eat fish. Or dairy and eggs.

The person who said fish don't get killed cruelly, you are so wrong. They are killed the cruelest of all. They have big hooks through their mouths while they are alive which hurts dreadfully plus they can rip their mouth if they try to swim away and then they suffocate to death when they are pulled out of water. Does that sound like a humane way to kill?

Yes they are. I'm a vegetarien and the only thing evena little like meat that I eat is eggs. Hello people!!! Fish are meat!!!

There is only one decision that a vegetarian must make about fish...Fried or broiled? Nothing wrong with a veggie eating a little fish. It's not hurting you, now is it. What drives your need to be so judemental? Are labels that important to you? Lot's of vegetarians eat fish, and plenty of them don't. Live and let live, OK?

Why are you offended by people who eat fish? Fish aren't mistreated or abused. Why are you offended by what people eat at all? You should focus on yourself more. Judging people you don't know is more offensive than eating fish.
