A cycloid is defined by parametric equation x=r(t-sin(t)) and y=r(1-cos(t)) where r is radius of a circle rolling along a flat surface, and the point (x,y) describes where the lowest point on the circle has moved as the circle rolls away from the origin.

Is there a way to calculate the evaporation rate of say, a droplet of water? From what I understand, there are several factors to be taken into account:
- temperature
- air humidity
- concentration of substances dissolved in the water
- the rate at which fresh air is brought in near the surface (Fick's law of diffusion?)
- effect of hydrogen bonds in the water
- surface area of the droplet
- Does the type of material the droplet lies on also have a significant effect on evaporation rate?

My kids have been wanting a puppy, or young dog for a long time. I keep delaying the process of looking because my sons are rough with each other and I don't want them to hurt the dog. So, I just haven't even bothered to look.
They are a little older now and I am a little more ready to research the idea and kinds of breeds that would put up with 2 active boys.
I don't like toy dogs, or show dogs and any dogs that need hair cuts like poodles. I want a dog that has a good temperment and will put up with tons of playing.
I have thought about going to the pound but, I was thinking that perhaps a lot of the dogs there would have been abused and wouldn't be good with kids.
Like I said, I haven't put any real thoughts into this yet. And I most definitely will not get a dog at a drop of a hats notice. I do need to add a fence and get a dog house, etc. I am just ready to think about getting a dog within the next year, maybe... :)

as parents we think he is way too old for her.she feels the need to be with a guy older b/c she says guys her age are too inmature.she is not too mature herself.there is no respect for us as parents and our wishes for her future. you know he is the one and only.the one she wants to marry.the fact is she has run away with this guy 3 times and been locked up for that,quit school and all she is focusing on is him and what they want to do.he is promising to marry her just as soon as she turns 18.we recently found out that the reason why he wont move on with his life is b/c he says if he moves out of the pic it will leave room for another guy to come in.this is exactly what her dad and i would love to see.we would love to see her slow down and do teen things and not grow up so fast.he doesnt trust their relationship if he cant see her or talk to her on a regular basis. we want him to go away until she is an adult and then if they really love one another then it will still be there.

If you could take the powers of two superheroes, who would take? For example, like combining Flash's speed with Hulk's strength. For me, I would say Spiderman's web crawling and Spider Sense with Wolverine's healing power. Unstoppable force. Anyone know where I can find a Giant Schnauzer breeder here in Phoenix AZ?? I see them at the dog parks but dont know where I can actually get one. If you are going to send me links please make sure they show breeders in AZ. I tried the whole rescue thing but non will let me rescue if I have a child in the house which I do and she's 6 and know's better than to pull a dogs ear or hit one. Can anyone help??

I ended up in the ER about two weeks ago with a 4.5mm kidney stone that had made its way into the most narrow part of the ureter. The doctor assured me that it's passable, I'll just have to "push it out," whatever that means. During the past week, I've been having kidney pain -- not as bad as before, but requiring a Toradol so I can sleep. Any ideas as to why this is, and how I can get that damn thing out of my body asap??

I live in southern michigan, and its not allowed to shoot rifles where I am at, however, I am looking to get a rifle for target, and small game shooting around our farm, I am trying to decide between a .17 a .22, or a .223. The .223 rifles are far larger bullets, just wondering what you would recommend. I dont want to attract too much attention, would a 223 be way too loud?
