fruit flies will be attracted to sweet smelling things. perhaps your bodywash/deodorant/cologne is the culprit. or maybe you have a rotting banana in your back pocket?
*EDIT*-were the fruit flies singing "close to you"...b/c then i'd have to go with the gay fly theory.

fruit flies are gay, they literally have a "gay gene" i just read it
they are turned on by men (the male ones)
so maybe he recognizes u are a man
