Just a thought.................................................
I thought in the US people upheld the rule of law? Also, why are legal immigrants getting mad at Lou Dobbs for defending their rights as Americans and comparing it to illegals........DON'T YOU MORONS KNOW ILLEGAL AND LEGAL ARE NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STOP DRIVING DOWN OUR WAGES AND BANKRUPTING OUR TOWNS AND CITIES. WE KNOW IT IS NOT ALL YOUR FAULT, BUT YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM BEING USED BY THE ELITE TO DESTORY THE MIDDLE CLASS OF THIS NATION. EVEN THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD BILL GATES SAID WE NEED MORE ILLEGALS TO TAKE JOBS FROM AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!
GO LOOK UP THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION, MERGING THE US, CANADA AND MEXICO, ECONOMICALLY, PHYCIALLY AND SOCIALLY......THEY ARE EVEN MERGING THE CURRENCY AND CALLING IT THE AMERIO LIKE THE EURO..............

Yes, the government should protect it's borders.
One way to do that, however, is to reduce the incentives that drive millions across our southern border, as that would make gaurding that border much easier. The way to do /that/ is to go after the employers who exploit illegal immigrants, so zealously that all employers become reluctant to continue doing so. That would stem the tide, and make border enforcement practical again.

Its a "one length suits all" border coverage that would not make experience. Our northern border is amazingly diverse from our southern border. besides the indisputable fact that the Mexican-American community has instructed the gov't that it really is racist to address both borders in a special way. even besides the indisputable fact that reality says we ought to continuously. we do not have a issue with tens of millions of Canadians crossing over illegally and residing the following and being utilized through employer as less costly labour. in the experience that they construct a fence alongside the Mexican border, there's a push from the Mexican American community to do the same with Canada. ultimately, Canada isn't a haven for terrorists coming over the border. it really is very few internet b.s. the nineteen hijackers from 9/11 did not come from Canada. in reality, we are ultimately gaining knowledge of the very shown reality that terrorists in our personal midst are homegrown. we've our personal buttload of muslims. Nevermind thoughts Canada.

Trying to tighten our borders is a band-aid solution that doesn't get at the root of the problem. The American and Mexican citizens have to get serious about rooting out corruption in both governments and improving the economy in Mexico. Decent labor laws in Mexico and enforced labor laws in the U.S.=no illegal immigration.

The government is run by wealthy corporations. Congress obeys the wishes of illegals way better than the people who elect them.
Because of this, the merge is unavoidable.

absolutely. illegal immigration is breaking the law. we are supposed to be a nation of laws. all this political correctness b.s. is really ticking me off. i sympathize with people wanting a better life for themselves and their families.. but, there's a right way to do it and a wrong way.. these people are not victims. they are criminals.

I hate tumbs down and I know I will get a few for this but I can guarantee you that if you check to the core of your feelings you will realize that you don't really dislike illegals but you have like many other Americans been influenced by people like Lou Dobbs who are open about an anti immigration policy and have resorted to use only what is is bad about it and never what is good which leaves a lot behind furthermore because of their preachings maybe not intentionally they are always accused of being racist which makes sense since they often times say they are not against immigration and yet there are seen in pictures holding signs that refer to the contrary. I can agree with many people who always write about having migrants come here legally instead of illegally but unfurtunately in order to guarantee you as a foreign resident that ability is truly very hard.
Take for example a very good friend of mine (Mexican by the way) who came to school to this country legally studied to become a mechanical Engineer. After graduating She was invited by the school to obtain a Masters Degree which later turned into a Doctorate. Always on top of her class she excelled so much that several schools in Europe wanted her to come and teach on her projects but she had decided to stay in the States and applied for residence and she was not aproved. I am talking about someone whose specialization was the environment and ways to protect it so she became frustrated and ended up moving to Italy where she now resides and us Americans lost top talent. As a regular citizen in Latin America if you want to apply for residency you pretty much can obtain it by having a relative here legally, Marriage or by being able to demonstrate that you have $1,000.000.00 in verified funds in an account, any other attempt would have to be by being eligible some kind of amnesty due to Natural Disasters or war and I would much rather not wish that to anyone at all (http://www.visapro.com/Green-Cards.asp). As you can see the only choice they have is risking their lives and overcome people like Dobbs to make a better life for themselves. In addition, the contribution to the economy is very high for example in 2004 Illegals contributed $7 billion to Social Security and $1.5 billion to Medicare for example. I favor an an immigration reform as I truly think one is needed for several reasons, for one if we were able to collect so much money in 2004 from the reporting W2's imagine the amount we could collect from everyone else. In addition one of the reasons the majority of people send huge amounts of money back home is not neccesarily because they want to but because of their fear of loosing it if deported which is a reality.
Now imagine if we had the ability to provide this people with Home Pride like us Americans they would be buying homes and investing on other things as they would not have that fear any longer therefore creating an even bigger economy that is all legal and pays its dues plus we would have better control of delinquency as each one of them would be fingerprinted and would have to diclose their residence. I know some of the arguements that I've read in the past have always focused on the Reagan administration and that he already did it and it only brought more people to the Country which is a fair assumption but that is why it is called a broken immigration policy becasue it never saw to the future but was created as a one time fix.
Either way whether they accept a reform or not in the future and put an end to this issue, for me as a bonus I will be entertained seeing Lou Dobbs trying to come up with 25 minutes of new content everyday for his show, that will be very amusing and hopefully Andersoon Cooper will take over his spot eventually and bring back variety to CNN.
