Hello :) I am a high school junior right now and I'm worried about applications this fall. I just want to know realistically whether or not I can get into UC Irvine or UC Los Angeles with these grades/extracurriculars.

My current GPA for soph/1st semester of junior year: 3.75 weighted. I'm aiming for a 4.3+ 2nd semester.

SAT score: 1830 as of now, planning to retake this Saturday and get a higher score of 2000+

Extracurriculars (by the time I send out applications)
3 years of Track/Field
1 year of Basketball
Member of Youth Alive Christian Club for 3 years
Member of Spanish Club for 2 years/helped facillitate projects
Member of Study Club for 2 years
Was named as Most Improved Student by the end of sophomore year.
(I'm aiming to volunteer as much as I can this summer)

Everyone knows smoking is not good for their health so I want to know why anyone begins and continues to smoke. I am talking about before it gets addictive. I have only smoked 5 cigarettes in my life but I never found anything good about them. Perhaps I am ignorant. Is it the taste, the way it makes you feel, the way it makes you look or what?

I am 17 and it's almost one year since I have been in ex-gay ministries. I've prayed. My brothers and sisters in Christ have prayed and layed on hands. I have had aversion therapy which was painful. I have hit rock bottom! I am drained emotionally to the core. I feel pissed off sometimes and really hurt and violated by it all. Even though I am still a virgin, in my heart I know that I am not attracted to the opposite sex and I don't think I ever will be. Sometimes I REALLY want to just end it ALL. People, my family, my church are all expecting that I will be straight. My parents spent A LOT OF MONEY on me for this. I just might lie and say I am until I can think of what to do next. I am trying hard to hold on to my faith but it is VERY hard. I hear there are churches that accept people like me but I have to wait until I graduate college and move out. I know it's wrong to lie about being cured, but I cannot see what other option I have.

I have white formica (I guess) cabinets. If anyone is familiar with Lowe's, they are the white Colonial brand Lowe's stocks. I am looking to possibly paint them. I know I need to sand them lightly and prime them. Latex is easier to clean up, but oil-based will give me a better finish. Any suggestions?

1) Give them the option of peace (to become believers)
2) If they want to keep their religion, they must pay the Tribute (Head Tax)
