Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac.
Both were blessed since God promised Abraham that his seed would be blessed (before the birth of any child) and God does not break his promises and no nation can be blessed without Gods’ command.
1-----After Abraham had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as HIS WIFE. -- GENESIS 16:3
2------So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of HIS SON, whom Hagar bore, ISHMAEL. - GENESIS 16:15
Islamic belief is that both sons would be blessed and both blessings would come through them unto the world. In Islam there is no superiority or inferiority issues when describing the blessed sons of Abraham. Isaac is mentioned with great honor and love in the Quran. Great Prophets came from the lineage of Isaac and David and none brought such a complete code of life and a complete law like Moses.
Amongst the Israelites (Jews) the great Statesman and Law Giver was Moses.
However, from the descendants of Ishmael, the brother of Isaac - who was the Great Prophet, conqueror and Law Bringer ?
From amongst the Ishmaelites (Muslims) the great Statesman and Law Giver was Mohammed.
Mohammed, just like Moses, was a Statesman ,Military commander, bringer of a detailed Law for religious, social, financial, political affairs and both had families.
The Quran is full of the stories of Moses as a guidance for Mohammed on how he should handle similar situations.
Moses was the means for the Israelites to become a great nation chosen to protect and deliver the commandments from God as a blessing unto mankind.
Mohammed was the means for the Ishmaelites to become a great nation chosen to protect and deliver the commandments from God as a blessing unto mankind.
Through the seed of Abraham God has completed his favor unto all of mankind until the day of Judgement.
Mohammed was the last and final Ishmaelite/Abrahamic Prophet and Jesus was the last and final Israelite Prophet.
The Quran calls Jesus “the Messiah” which means “the one who was sent as a redeemer for the Israelites (Jews)”.
May God bless all the Jews, Muslims and Christians with proper understanding and may all of mankind benefit from the Divine message and Divine Law which is now eternally protected in the original tongue it was revealed in (Islam).
