I am trying to get some sleep ! I have not slept in 2 days. I am exhausted....I cannot let her run around the house while I am sleeping though. She isn't trained yet.

It seems to me, the first thing you need is some rest . Find some one to give you a break for a few hours so you can sleep. As for the puppy, try the book Puppys for Dummies, it answered a lot of questions for me.

(*lol*) Don't put the puppy in the crate when you put the kids down for a nap. Puppies are going to cry when you start crate training them. They are pack animals and want to be with their pack (that would be you). This is something you work on a little at a time...when others aren't sleeping, and reward for crate time.

I have one dog who loves his crate, and one hates it. The third dog is fine as long as it doesn't last long.

The puppy is going to cry no matter HOW you try to separate it from you. You can't take a puppy give it lots of attention and then think it's going to be separated from you without a fuss. AND, if you give into the crying, they're going to do it again and again, because it worked.

What you need to do is get an old fashioned type cloak that ticks wrap it in a blanket and put it near the dog.

Your dog is either lonely or bored so give it something to play with or play with the dog yourself

get a hot water bottle, a clock, and a towel. put the clock in the crate, cover it with the hot water bottle and then the towel... it's supposed to mimic their mothers heart beat and comfort them

if you are home, why is she in the crate? the only time for that is if you are leaving the house.
