I would imagine that some embezzling crook will win it....

Here are some words from a mate who works in the British HC in Abjua:

"The election is utterly rigged. A bunch of ballot papers already made out with a vote for the ruling party were seized the day before the election and there have been reports of miraculously stuffed boxes in the Lagos area despite a non-existenet turnout.
They're not even clever about fixing it. Then again, as almost all of the country are ill educated ignorant fuckwits, they don't have to be that clever."

But then who'd expect anything else...

The people's choice, the incorruptible and "straight arrow" known to all would win at the polls. But then he would be denied the mandate by the cult of the ruling cabal just as they stole most candidates' victory the week before.
Since votes do not count in Nigeria therefore, the candidate of the ruling party would be imposed so that he can continue to shield the thieving gang of the ougoing criminal President.

The vote is very likely to be rigged. My Nigerian friends here in London are of this opinion.

Even if it is an open election, are any observers allowed in say from the EU, USA? Like here in UK we get observers from everywhere - no problem because it's an open vote and very little if any fiddles. Although back in the 1960s it was claimed that dead people were voting in Belfast. Maybe not so today.

of course there will be a false results. I used to want Yar'Adua to win but i do not anymore. PDP is a association of killers and cheats. they rigged every single election. It is ridiculous. This is the year 2007 and people are still rigging elections.. that is soo lame. PDP is supposed to stand for PEOPLE's Democratic party.... but what is so democratic about them?

Bastards.
Also.. F--- Obasanjo!

Probably business as usual, rich corrupt politicians and starving poor together with the expectation that the rest of the world will give them free handouts and lots of aid money to spend on palaces cars and good living.

Yep, business as usual.
