An evolutionist asked me a question today and I need some help.
He asked me about a genus of plants called Lithops. He said there are about 100 species and that they are ALL native to south-central Africa and no where else.
He asked me if I thought God had created them all there and I said maybe. He said, if he did, why ONLY there because they are well suited to grow in other places (I have to admit he was right, he grows them in many places here in Colorado).
So I thought maybe they arrived there after the flood. But he asked how likely it would be that about 100 species of the same genus arrived there and only there.
He said that scientists believe they all evolved there from an original one species. He also pointed out that the family (Aizoaceae) that they are classified into, occur mostly in Africa.
So help me out here. I know he must be wrong for new species do not just appear. How do we explain this?
God bless.
