Temptations of the:
World: materialism.
Putting work before service to God so you can get that new Land Rover you like so much. (Proverbs 11:28 - The one trusting in his riches—he himself will fall; but just like foliage the righteous ones will flourish)
Flesh: fornication/adultery
Immoral acts just to satisfy yourself when you know God does not approve. (Romans 8:7 - because the minding of the flesh means enmity with God, for it is not under subjection to the law of God, nor, in fact, can it be.)
Devil: Things you know are bad.
The devil temps us everyday with different things - including the world and things of the flesh. The devil even tried to tempt Jesus. But he didn't give in, but notice how the devil took it at Luke 4:13 - "So the Devil, having concluded all the temptation, retired from him until another convenient time."
So the Devil persists in trying to tempt God's righteous servants. It's a continuous process to resist.
I hope I answered your question some.

The temptation of the world refers to a philosophical mindset outside the Truth of God, the temptation of the flesh is the desire for physical and carnal gratification and the temptation of the devil relates to spiritual warfare that has a two-fold prong - 1) some form of Pride and 2) giving up or giving in. They relate directly to the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. All three are overcome the same way - by the Word of God. Jesus gave us the perfect example of overcoming all three in the temptation in the wilderness. He quoted the Scriptures. Our offense in this war is the Word of God and our defense is our shield of faith. The Bible says that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. The blood is our covering of protection in which we have life and the testimony is the voice of Truth found in the person of Jesus Christ --- we believe with the heart unto righteousness (the blood covering) and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (the covenant of agreement in Christ). We live in Christ by His blood and His word...we accomplish this through our relationship of holiness and our walk of agreement (walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship...). Hope this helps.

The world: the world that is that acts as if God doesn't exist, or is irrelevant. Its easy to end up thinking in the same way because of peer pressure. Also if you ignore God you can take shortcuts to earthly success.
John 2:15 "Love not the World" - that is hard. Best to renew your mind to get God's perspective, then World is less attractive.
The flesh: this is not just our bodies urges so much as the part of our mind that still thinks in worldly ways and our body's lustful tendencies
(Romans 6:6). Remember the old nature is killed off when you believe, then set about renewing your mind so it thinks right.
Romans 12:1-2
a) Present your mind and body to God (so we get the resurrection life flowing in us, referred to in Romans 6)
b) Be transformed by the renewing of your mind (the Word)
The devil: He will try to discourage you and condemn you.
But there is no condemnation for a believer since Christ has born their sins; remind onself of this to remove condemning thoughts Satan brings.
He will try to get you disgusted by the carnal nature of many believers. Other strategies honed to weaknesses he thinks you may have.

Forget Scriptures .The temptation of flesh is nothing more than animal instinct to reproduce .
All living animals, insects and humans have this desire .It is not a "SIN" as you suggest. It is a NORMAL cycle of life .
As to the " DEVIL " ,THERE IS NO SUCH THING.
Right and Wrong ,now that is a different story.

It's all temptations of the world, flesh and the devil. The devil does not want us to follow Jesus Christ. He wants us to fail and be with him in eternal hell. God will NOT give us more than we can handle. E-mail me & I can give you some of my experiences.

Well, there is no devil, and temptations of the flesh are fun! Why would you want to avoid them?
