WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, seeking to one-up Congress' Democratic majority in a showdown over the Iraq war, suggested Saturday that lawmakers should be ashamed that they added non-war items to an Iraq spending bill.

"I like peanuts as much as the next guy, but I believe the security of our troops should come before the security of our peanut crop," Bush said in his weekly radio address, referring to a provision in the war funding legislation that earmarks $74 million for secure peanut storage.

The Senate has passed a bill calling for most U.S. combat troops to be out of Iraq by March 31, 2008, while the House version demands a September 2008 withdrawal. In both houses, the timelines are attached to legislation providing money to fund military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan this year.

Bush repeated his promise to veto the bills if the timelines stay in -- and if the unrelated earmarks stay in as well -- because they "undercut our troops in the field."

Freedom of speech is a corner stone of America . If Americans didn't speak out . Queen Elizabeth would be making choices for us. Liberals get shot down now . Conservatives got shot down 8 years ago . Listen to each other , then decide. Even if it is unpopular.

I have to memorize these structures for a class and when I google them, I get different structures each time. Some are linear, some have shapes in them and stuff like that and I know they must mean the same thing, but how can I determine the identity of a structure that is using shapes by using the linear formula or vice versa? I don't know which form I am going to be given.

I have been married for almost 2 years now. Until recently I thought that everything was OK. We have 3 children and expecting another due in August. He started a new job around September of 06 and ever since he has just completely changed. We found out that I was pregnant in December and right after that he just doesn't seem to care about me or our children. He goes out after work and doesn't come home until the next day in the early afternoon. He claims that he stays with a friend named John from work. His car has been broke down since October and he has been using mine, so therefore I am stuck at home with 3 kids and pregnant, and he could seem to care less. There have been nights when i have asked him to grab stuff for the kids on his way home because i couldn't go to get them, and he still would not come home. He says that there is no one else but its kind of hard to believe, especially since this has all happened so quickly. I just don't know what to do. My marriage has

Yeah, I read it in the paper today. A french nun with Parkinson's disease prayed to Pope Jean Paul II or something, and she woke up the next day healed. (apparently the pope had Parkinson's too). And upon being verified as a "miracle" this could be what is required to make Pope Jean Paul appointed to sainthood by beatifying him? or some term like that. (I don't know what it's called, I'm not Catholic)

Hi, I'm just finishing up my first year at university and I want to get a little start on investing in, most likely, a mutual fund. I'm wondering what the minimal weekly contribution would be. Would 50-100 get me anywhere? I know it's not a lot of money, and I won't see much of a return on an amount like that. I just want to get a start for when I can actually go in head first. I'm looking for a mutual fund with a decent background and a lot of risk as I'm young and won't miss my money all too much.

So basically, what is the minimal contribution and where should I look? Am I better off with a savings account? Is ING still the best for that? Thanks.

One by a msg left on my cell phone, two by email. Before the last email the police laughed at me and said that if he wasn't outside your door don't worry. This guy is getting more dangerous because I don't respond to him. Even the lady from Domestic Violence said to 'leave him alone" WTF??? I have a restraining order and now he knows he can get away with anything. I just went and flied papers with the magistrates office & they gave me a court date. My question: Does he just get served papers to appear or does he get arrested?? Last time they arrested him for no trespassing and he spent 75 days in jail before he saw a judge. I'm a single mom with two teenage daughters and we are living in fear of this guy. Why can't he just leave us ALONE???

You call the President of your church a prophet, seer and revelator but when was the last time he proclaimed, "Thus saith the Lord?" and made any kind of prophecy? As a seer he was fooled by Mark Hoffman and false documents. How can this be if he is truly a seer and is supposedly being lead by God?

The United States has accused Syria of aiding the Sunni insurgency in western Iraq with weapons and fighters. Syria also is accused of supporting the militant extremist groups Hezbollah, a Shiite political party and militia, and Hamas.

"We do not encourage and, in fact, we discourage members of Congress to make such visits to Syria," said White House deputy spokeswoman Dana Perino. "This is a country that is a state sponsor of terror, one that is trying to disrupt the (Prime Minister Fouad) Siniora government in Lebanon and one that is allowing foreign fighters to flow through its borders to Iraq.

"I don't know what she is trying to accomplish, and I don't know if anyone in the administration has spoken to her about it," Perino said. "In general, we do discourage such trips."

Responding to a follow-up question, Perino added, "We think that someone should take a step back and think about the message that it sends ... to our allies."
