and watch the gum drop go around until it hit the bottom?

Maybe this is a vent session, but I just came back from our school's open house and I'm exhausted. The principal and parents were congratulating me on how well everything was...bla bla bla...getting to the point. Why are some parents so consumed on thinking the teachers are wrong. I had ONE parent tonight that told me off in front of all of the other parents and students. She wanted to know why her daughter didn't have better penmenship. I teach 6th grade, not elementary!! That made me feel worthless especially all the back breaking work I did to make this night special. If you are a parent, please be appreciative of your teachers and all they do for your children. They are your children's second parents because they not only have them all day long, but they actually care about them and want to see them succeed just as much as you do.

I've been looking to buy an acoustic guitar for a while and I need some expert opinions.

1) Should I get an electric/acoustic or plain acoustic?
2) What brand and style should I go for? (I play mostly alternative single vocal stuff)
3) Is there a performance difference concerning the sound with cutaways or normal body designs?
4) My price range is $300 and below, can you make an suggestion for me?

Thanks guys!

But after that whole thing she began to be really shy around me and we don't really talk anymore. she looks at me alot during class and looks away when i look. did she say no to hide that she liked me? this has been going on since december. i'm just really confused now. does she like me? shes also moving in 2 months. i just don't know what to do

I just really like the products that are made for sensitive skin...is there any reason I shouldn't use them (like if they wouldn't be effective or something). Thanks!

My dad is half black, though very light skinned, kinda like Derek Jeter. My mom is full black (Nigerian), kind of like a Naomi Campbell. I am white, brown hair, have no black features whatsoever. People think I'm lying when I tell them I'm 3/4 black. How often does this happen, are there are lot of multiracial people who look like just one race (in my case, I don't look like either of my parents, but my grandpa).

I think, considering I'm 3/4, I should be able to identify as black if I want to (I don't usually identify myself as anything though). Barack Obama is only half black, yet he is widely considered a black man. What are your opinions?

I refuse to watch American Idol. Sanjaya has accidently not been kicked off 3 times in a row. This time, he was up against Sundance. I said "Ok, finally he's going, there's no way anyone can beat Sundance". And sure enough Sundance was "eliminated". Sundance is in the top 12 in my heart. (Feels like a little girl). This is crap.

The Sanjaya curse must be stopped. Everything he touches like turns into Michael Jackson and runs around with little boys. It's just shameful.

There was a variety type television show on in the early 80's with Glenn Scarpelli (?) and an older gentleman. I was too young to remember clearly, do you?

Is it because their sensitive little feelings get hurt?

Should we also ban cheering, so the other team doesn't feel left out when they don't get as many cheers?

I have a friend who's had severe PTSD for a long time (due to sex abuse). He's started EMDR treatment but still has a long way to go. This has cost him jobs, relationships (personal and professional) and other stuff too. His family is severely in denial and can't be bothered with his problems. He lost his last job due to the PTSD and is now looking for a new one and wants to move soon. He knows that he needs to continue to get help so the PTSD doesn't hang over his head forever.

How does he deal with flashbacks, anger and trying to repair these broken relationships (other than with the family). Sorry this is long and involved. But I'd appreciate all constructive input. Thanks!

if Adoption is the solution to abortion. then How many of you are willing to Adopt 2-3 children. be responsible for them and pay for their lives for 18 years. and then send them off to college.
If we assume that there are 1 million abortions in america per year that would make an average of five hundred thousand families that need to step up and take the responsibility.

remember now, there are already millions of kids in the foster system that do not have Adopted Parents. the system is overflowing.

so how many will you take. how many can you afford to take. it costs an average of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars over 18 years to raise a child. not including college.

so i ask again, how many extra bedrooms do you have?

how many will you take?

how many can you afford?

how many do you HAVE?

if you have none, will take none and can afford none or have beds for none. then who are you to say "give it up for adoption"?

the homes simply are not there.

I was wondering if any other women have had this-- Last week I was getting out of the shower (hair was dry, and bathroom did not feel that cold) and as I reached for my towel I started shivering HARD, so hard it made me feel like I was going to vomit. I hurried and got dressed and went to the couch and shuddered uncontrollably for another few minutes until finally I warmed up. My belly felt so sore the next day from the shaking. This happened once with my last pregnancy, only it woke me up in the middle of the night, and it wasn't quite as bad. I have a dr appointment next wk, and will be asking dr about it. Anyone have this too?

Why in the hell is Sanjaya Malakar still on??? I did my part and voted, Chris Richardson got my vote for the guys (Lakisha for the girls). My ONLY theory on why Sanjaya is still on is because Michael Jackson fans are keeping him around; is this true? I'm sure you can see why I would think that. I just can't understand how you can keep that little creepy weirdo around!!! For the people claiming he is on because he's 'beautiful'... you people need glasses. Also... letting Sabrina Sloan go? WOW! She was GREAT. The only thing that was right was getting rid of Antonella and Jared. Seriously... Can anyone admit to voting for AND liking Sanjaya as a singer?

Let set A be a 90-element subset of {1,2,3,...,100}, and let S be the sum of the elements of A. Find the number of possible values of S.

I know the answer is 901, but I don't know how to get the answer except through the long way of adding elements together and checking.

I have heard somewhere that when someone enters from the right side of the screen in a movie, it's supposed to make the viewer feel uncomfortable.

I've also noticed that when things are very matchy (The drapes matching the curtains and the rugs and the lampshade and someone's dress, etc.), it tends to provoke a sense of sadness/depression.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ways things are shot to make a certain feeling or emotion evident?
