My dad is half black, though very light skinned, kinda like Derek Jeter. My mom is full black (Nigerian), kind of like a Naomi Campbell. I am white, brown hair, have no black features whatsoever. People think I'm lying when I tell them I'm 3/4 black. How often does this happen, are there are lot of multiracial people who look like just one race (in my case, I don't look like either of my parents, but my grandpa).
I think, considering I'm 3/4, I should be able to identify as black if I want to (I don't usually identify myself as anything though). Barack Obama is only half black, yet he is widely considered a black man. What are your opinions?
