So, I need to take three days off next week -- less than the traditional two weeks required to get vacation days approved. It's for a reason I don't really want to tell my boss (grad school interviews -- they have no idea I'm planning on quitting in the next six months). What's the best thing to tell them to get the time off?

Ideas that have been given to me so far:

My dad (who lives out of state) is having surgery and needs help.
My boyfriend surprised me with short-notice plane tickets somewhere.
Best friend's doing a shotgun wedding.
Wait until right before and say someone died.

My 2.5 year old daughter has not shown any interest in potty training. She currently wears pullups and we've tried big girl undies which she likes to wear, but will stay in when she's wet. How do I get her interested in using the potty (besides the Elmo dvd, musical potty chair, and everyone poops book), and what's the best method in getting her trained? I NEED her to be trained by the fall because she'll be starting preschool.

I answered a question about how many movies did Elvis make and I said 12 and since then I have found out it was 31. My thinking on this is I guess I should look up my answers better before answering them. Right? Also I wonder if anyone has answered a question and found out later you were wrong?

seems to be taking ove the show? When the other 2 ladies were on the show, no one seemed to be a dominant one. They all seemed to have equal air time. But Rosie is always talking and always has to have the last word. Maybe it's because she use to having her own talkshow and doesn't know how to share the camera with others. But I've been at home for a week and i've watched the View all last week and she is always talking and interupting. Is she staying on the show after her contract is up? I thought Barbara Walters was more of the 'owner' of the show between allthe ladies, she had the concept of doing it.

I need to file the paper work for an LLC/sole proprietorship.
I need to file the paper work to declare the money I made ($9525) and I have about 2200 in deductions.

I also need to figure out something on my personal taxes:
I also have a letter from the IRS about a W2- I got on April 15th after I sent im my efile already. I never filed an amended return so they are counting the $158.xx of federal taxes not paid as income for this year.

Those are the issues I got. I know that my revenue is for now pretty low so I don't have to worry about an instant IRS audit, but I don't want to ever get one so I want to have someone file this right the first time, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not that person.

Basically, the issue is whether I should file this as personal income, or file as a business. Either way I file I dont know the forms to fill out and if I did them myself the danger is that I dont know enough to catch my own errors. Which is why I need someone to do em for me.

Over the weekend I was laying on the couch and my husband leaned down to hug me. His one arm was pressing the side of my bump and as he leaned in it hurt. When I told him it hurt, he moved right away but I was worried... could this have hurt the baby or done damage to the placenta or anything? I seemed to have a pain on that side for a bit afterward...perhaps it was just because my uterus is tender or ...maybe it was psychological. I have a Dr. Appt tomorrow and will mention it then but what do you all think....could that have harmed the baby?

Islamic history books tell about a battle called "Sareyat Al Fuls" where prophet Muhammed ordered his cousin (Ali Ibn Abu Talib) to lead a group of Muslims and go to conquer a neighbour village and destroy their temple.

The story says that the small army invaded the village, destroyed its temple, looted all valuables, and enslaved many women and men.

The story also tells that the Muslim army leader (Ali) asked his prisoners of war if they would submit to Islam. He saved the lives of those who submitted to Islam and KILLED those who refused to submit to Islam.

The whole story can be found (in its original ARABIC) in Al Maghazy and also Ibn Hisham:

Is that story true?

Hi. Well, this is this story: I'm starting dating a guy who seems very nice and cute. We had our second date last Friday, and everything was normal until he started talking about his disease. He told me that he suffers from depressions, and that he has to take pills everyday, and he goes to the doctor every two months. I was shock, I don't know what to do now. I think this is too much information for a second date, but now that I now it.... should I stay or should I go?

Ok, so lets just use the below question as an example,

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgsjoDfSRj5BEMCDpj6XeXnd7BR.?qid=20070305083857AAoab5H

In this question on yahoo answers we see a few answers that attack the person asking the question,

we see someone impying that the asker is a drug user, and someone implying that the asker had low SAT scores.

How is that answering the question of the asker?

Regardless of the drug habits of the asker, in this case the asker is not a drug user, is the question still worthy of a polite respectful answer?

Regardless of the SAT or ACT scores, and level of education of the asker, in this case the asker has a Bachelor of Art's from a Big 10 university, is the question still worthy of a polite and respectful answer?

--

If the question itself is phrased disrespectful, perhaps the answer could state that, and the answerer take the high moral ground?
