Hi. Well, this is this story: I'm starting dating a guy who seems very nice and cute. We had our second date last Friday, and everything was normal until he started talking about his disease. He told me that he suffers from depressions, and that he has to take pills everyday, and he goes to the doctor every two months. I was shock, I don't know what to do now. I think this is too much information for a second date, but now that I now it.... should I stay or should I go?

Yes, he is a very nice person, and I feel a little bit confused. We have had a wonderful time together, and I feel very attracted to this guy. So that's the reason why I need your advice.

Seems to me he is not only aware that he is depressed and takes the steps to combat it, but he is open and honest about it.
Open and honest is a GOOD thing. We all get depressed, some of us, like him, get help, and have balance in the end. Others who don't get help, just get worse. This guy seems to be on the right track. Just because he takes meds for depression does not mean he is psycho. I would say give him a chance, at least.
By the way, what # date is the right date for this info, 3rd, 4th, or how bout 2 years later? Point is, he was honest with you, allowing you to make a decision.

STAY!!! I have to take pills everyday for my ADD and the medicine i take is an antidepressent but i am still a really nice, fun, and caring person!! The medicine that people take is to help them with what ever!! If i don't take my med. I will daydream and my memory hits the floor!! I don't think that anyone would get in a car with me like that!! I could kill them and others. So dont let the med. fact stop you from being with that person, that is if you really love him and enjoy his company!!

Give the guy a chance. For the most part Psychological disorders are treatable and with the right positive support he may be able to overcome his obstacle. (nothing helps a depressed guy like a girl) If you like him and are willing to give him a shot I'd say do it and don't give the medication and disorder a second thought except to remind him to help himself if he lapses into a depression or anxiety attack.
Good luck.

It's not too much info for a 2nd date. He told you up front before he gets attached to you so it won't hurt if you walk away. If you want to deal with mood swings and medications for the rest of your life, then pursue the relationship. If you want a normal guy with less baggage and problems, then find someone else.

Depression affects 10% of people. He should be applauded for being honest, and in control of his depression. Stick around and get to know him for who he is. He needs friends, people who are not afraid. Learn about depression, it is not that big of a deal for people who are under a doctor's care.

I'd stay - he told you about the problem and that he is working on keeping it under control. It's not like he told you on the second date that he has AIDS or cancer - give him a chance.

depressions is not a serious disease if you know how to handle it, basically is find out what he is depress about and don't do it. If it is his work, tell him to change, if he can't because of his finance problem, then you have one more reason to leave. good luck

Find out more before you make up your mind.
You are better off knowing sooner rather than later
How does his depression manifest itself without medication ?
Good Luck
