I teach and have taught in quite a few schools - admittedly not in the UK or US - and I cannot help but wonder, this generation of kids and the children they'll have, what type of adults will they make?
I don't have a rose-tinted view of my youth, I'm at most ten years older than my pupils but these kids are, well very often they're dreadful. They hit teenage antics and problems at about ten, are jaded and bored by fifteen and can be so violent and vicious - which is increased by a pack-mentality.
I went to the kind of school I now teach at and ten years ago it was not like this. Even if I was a teen then, it was not like this.
So sometimes I worry, what is coming at us?

I really enjoyed the 2004 anime version, and I would like to read the book that spawned the movie. However, I have been told by several different people two things : some tell me that Turniphead was in the book, while others say he has. Was he or wasn't he?

I was looking to buy some lenses for my camera and I wanted to know which brand lens I should buy. I searched for Canon, Sigma, and Quantaray. I noticed Canon lenses are a lot more expensive. Which ever one you choose, what is wrong with the other ones. i.e. if you pick Canon, then tell me what is wrong with Sigma and Quantaray.

Stupidly I was ironing on a towel sitting on floor and laid the iron down--no burnt discoloration--just sheen of outline of iron and rough spot feels burnt and catches lint, dirt, pet hair, etc.
Do I need to cut spot out and replace or anthing can "shave off" top burnt layer ??? Luckily can not tell when clean and not stepping on or touching.....
Other carpets have trimmed burnt tips in front of fireplace etc. but never encountered this before........

Triple lower back fusion with rods and screws.Been to sev. different specialists.Currently having injections monthly.They're very painful and do not last for more than 2 weeks.These consist of nerve blocks,SI joint injections,and trigger point injections.I am also diabetic and can't have any steriods.I am SO tired of pills and the reactions from them.Most of all,the lack of mobility because of the pain.I am currently on an anti-depressant.I feel that it helps with my mood, but not with the pain. Currently on pain med and muscle relaxer.I don't want to feel drugged and am very sensitive to medicines. Can't take any anti-inflamatory meds..stomach problems.Before you say,"talk" to your doctors.I HAVE!! I need something to work! I have been in phys.therapy, which I am not a candidate.The risk of re-injury is so high with the degenerative disc disease,and knee problems.Even tried the muscle stimulation,water therapy,moist heat,massage,ice packs.Symptoms returned after a short relief. HELP!

What is the rule, I thought it was to move the deciminal point to the right, then add a zero and decimal to the 6. I'm not sure though because that gives you an answer of 60 and that doesn't look right.

I have a girlfriend that I am engaged to right now. I love her to death and I never have any thoughts of leaving her. A problem that I have is she intends to treat me very badly and doesn't give me any respect. She has cheated on me numerous of times, and a few weeks ago cheated on me by having sex with another guy behind my back. She also sent degrading pictures of herself to at least three other men over her phone. She keeps telling me that she'll change, but I really dont want to believe that anymore. Should I keep going with this relationship or just leave her and get my life back the way that I had it before. I dont know if its worth it or not.
