im in year 8 of high school and all my mates have started smoking, im being left out as usual but now more so. first of all my enemy started smoking. Then she became friends with my mates so now they have started aswell and i want to start smoking but i dont in a way. my friends also said if they ever started smoking i could kill them, should i hold them to it? should i start smoking? should i not?

We are thinking of booking a day trip to Yosemite from San Francisco. From the many trips available I am quite taken by the one which uses the Amtrak from Emeryville for the first leg of the journey.

Has anyone taken this trip? If so, how long is it overall and how long does it actually give you in Yosemite National Park?

I only have a few days in San Francisco on a visit from the UK but would love to see Yosemite as it looks fantastic, can anyone recommend this or any similar excursion?

my joints! I am in alot of pain and I have three people that are totally dependent on me (two young children and my older,sick Mom.) My Dr. did the blood work for confirmation of RA or Lupus finding no evidence of either. This is all over joint pain. It's been going on for a few months, begining in my left knee. I began using a cane and sometimes walker when at home. Now, the other knee, my hands are also my feet and ankles. My knee is very swollen and hurts like mad! My hands are stiff and every little joint in them hurt. In the morning, they are as stiff as boards and difficult to move and they go numb alot. My energy level is low and my life is starting to fall apart! My Dr.said that there is a virus that can attack the joints and lasts for four or five months (I'm hoping it's that vs. RA! ) We live in a three story home and my day involves constant runnnig up and down the stairs! An suggestions or knowlege about this awful pain?I am only 42! I would really appreciate it! Cindy

My last drs appt (the 23rd) they told me I was 50% effaced, but not dialated any yet... then last night, I felt like I couldnt do enough in the babys room, and it felt like there was tons to do, like I packed her diaper bag w/ her coming home outfits, and diapers and stuff, and I got her carseat ready to be put in the car, I tried to get everything organized, and it still didnt feel like I was getting enough done... and her movements have been stronger...but a little less frequent. not like a bad "not so frequent" just not as much as she used to. could labor be soon? my online tracker told me that 80% of woman deliver between now and their due date... I just want to hear your opinions and see if you think I might be getting closer to labor... : ) thanks for the input!

So, I have been dating someone for the last year. Known him for the last thirteen years. However, I feel like we have connections but at other times we have none. I love him dearly and don't want to hurt him but I feel like there is nothing to salvage. Then the days I really feel ready to leave he is nice as pie. At the same token there is another person that I have dated on and off not ever serious but have also remained friends with him for the last 15 years. He is the one that gives me the flutters and electric feeling when I am around him. But at the same time I can despise him so much because we have fought over stupid stuff and stopped talking. However everytime I talk to him I always feel that connection and wonder if he feels the same. Need some help!!! Any advice?

There are 100 lockers and 100 kids. All the lockers are closed.
The first kid opens all the lockers.
The second kid closes lockers #2, 4, 6, ..... etc.
The third kid only looks at lockers #3,6,9,12 ...etc. If the locker is open she closes it, if it's closed she opens it.
The fourth kid only looks at lockers #4, 8, 12, 16...etc. Again, like kid #3, if the locker is open she closes it, if it was closed he opens it.
This procedure continues until 100 kids have passed the 100 lockers.

a) How many lockers and which ones (like 7, and 33...etc) were open at the end?

b0figure out the pattern.

c) If we now have 1000 lockers and 1000 kids, how many lockers and which ones would still be open?

d) Of those 1000 lockers that are open at the end, WHY are they open?



please help me w/ this problem!
It's been stumping me foreverrr!
if you're good at math please answer the four questions a through d and explain it to me cause i don't GET IT!
