smoking is very bad and addictive. you shouldn't have to pick up this habit just to keep your friends. talk to them about how you feel left out and how they said they would never smoke. maybe you can convince them to quit?

My husband started smoking in about 8th grade and was smoking regularly by 11th grade. When he turned 26, he decided he had been smoking for over 10 years and maybe it was time to stop. He is now 37 and has been trying to stop now for 11 straight years. First of all, we could have retired on the money he has spent over the last 20 years. Secondly, you should see his teeth, YUCK. Thirdly, he smells, and I mean all the time. It doesn't matter if he had just showered, it comes out of his pores. He has those little wrinkles around his mouth that smokers get as well. Finally though and most importantly is his health. He has been very lucky to date, but we always have this cloud hanging over us as when the ax is going to fall! Heart attack and cancer being the scariest. I am assuming you are a young, pretty, fun loving 8th grader! Stay that way. You set the standard for not smoking and see if others will follow you. You can point out how nice you smell, how white your teeth are, how bright your complection is, how much extra money you have in your pocket and most importantly, how healthy you are!

Its not a good idea to pick up smoking at all for health reasons, Its very costly and a very hard habit to break. IT stinks and smells up clothes and makes your teeth turn yellow. Dont allow your friends to pressure you into smoking , drinking or drugs. All lead to a empty, dissatisfied life. I dont wont you to regret it because alot of people do and want to stop but have a very hard time. IF they are your true friends they will accept you regardless of what you do and how you make them feel. Also take a good look at what your lungs will look like from smoking and that will make your decision because you will not like the pictures.

NEVER pick up this habit. I started smoking at 16 due to peer pressure. Now 25 years later I find it to be a gross habit that I can not quit! You do not have to do what others are doing to fit in. All people are different and we should respect their choices. If your friends can't accept you as you are then get better friends not bad habits!

Why would you want to? Because your friends are? That's the wrong reason- in fact, there's no reason for you to smoke. If you become a smoker, you choose to die miserably and at a young age from emphysema, cancer, or numerous other diseases. Also, smoking is a very expensive habit. Use your money for better things.

Everytime someone else do something ,you will always do it,You can't go through life doing what other people do.It sounds like you are going to be a follower, instead of a leader.A follower will be a doormat, think about,do you really want that, come on smoking isn't cool at all, being smart is the bomb.

Man. You'd regret that decision anyway, let alone if you know you did it just to copy your enemy. And years down the track when it catches up with you, seriously, you'll feel like such an idiot. Don't start, if you're being left out they're not friends to begin with.

No, you should not. Because the peer can leave you all alone in a very room when you get enough after if you do like Kathleen Ann Quinlan of 1970s.

Unfortunately that is a sad question. You want to do it to fit it.

My answer is: Do it. Kill yourself with your friends. You aren't smart enough or strong enough to stand up to your friends and tell them NO. But since all you care about is being in the "IN" Crowd...definitely do it. We can use less people like you in the world.
