Why did African Americans protest against school segregation? I saw this quote on one of their picket signs that said: "Don't treat our children like prisoners!" What does that mean? and how could that have related to segregation. Please help, I don't understand. Thank you so much. :]

I'm an avid reader, but a friend of mine always argues with me that reading is a waste of time because many books have been made into movies. I think that reading has its own perks that a movie can't offer - like you use your imagination while you read to envision the characters, scenery, etc, and it's more interesting that way. What other benefits can you think of in regards to reading instead of watching a movie?

I had a miscarriage in December of last year and my doctor said that it was okay to start trying again and now we are pregnant, we don't know how far along because of irregular periods. I am so afraid that I will have another miscarriage. I know I shouldn't stress because it isn't healthy but I am so scared.
Has anyone else had a miscarriage then a healthy baby?

We have an appointment with a personal management firm that provides children/babies for print advertising and television commercials. Is there anything we should know so we can be prepared and not be ripped off. How do we know if it's the real deal? What kinds of things should we expect to pay for and what things shouldn't we pay for? wake up 20 minutes earlier before getting dressed for school and excercise to some music.

for breakfast: a fruit or half a turkey sandwich

lunch: the other half of that turkey sandwich from breakfast and a fruit or vegetable.
after school.....
i then go outside and excersise by playing basketball or soccer for about 45 minutes

then for dinner: no starches, small portion size of meat and all the vegetables you cant eat with a glass of water.

ill try ro drink 4 glasses of water a day.

please tell me if this is a good diet.
i need to lose about 30 punds by april

wellz i like this guy and we have known each other for quite a long time now.. few weeks ago we kind of had a fight.. then we havent talked or anything after that.. i actually sent him an email just telling when i would be back in the place (coz i was overseas at that time) and now i have come back.. he still hasnt said a word to me.. should we just ignore each other like this forever..? hummm

A wild bird has come down my sister's chimney. It is a big, black bird. Right now he is sitting on her bookshelf and hasn't moved since he came. That was about 2and a half hours ago. She opened the doors and windows but the bird won't budge. It must have a nest up the chimney. She has put out bread and water for it.
What should she do? The poor thing is obviously terrified at being in an alien environment. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I haven't been seen her for 2 years now, the last time I saw her, her hair was in shoulder length, and she is Malay, honestly, she love to smile, but she never smile in photos and she never show her teeth either. Someday if I wanna fix a date to meet her, I will love to take photos and using camcorder to video her, do you think she will smile? cause I don't even know how to make girls smile, and her teeth is pearly white & straight, like she wore braces before. (She never wore braces.)
