my dad use to listen to oldies music. I think it might be jazz or vocal of some sorts. All i can remember is on song... "chattanooga choo choo... xyz kalamazoo..." ha ha... i'm sure i'm way off, but any thoughts would be great...

You're mixing two songs together. The Glenn Miller band did a great rendition of the Chatanooga Choo Choo. The other song you're thinking of is (I've Got a Gal In) Kalamazoo, also by Glenn Miller.
