A Pulitzer-Winning Photographer's Suicide

Farai Chideya talks to Dan Krauss, the director of The Death of Kevin Carter, an Oscar-nominated documentary about the life, work and suicide of a Pulitzer-prize winning South African photojournalist.
Carter's winning photo shows a heart-breaking scene of a starving child collapsed on the ground, struggling to get to a food center during a famine in the Sudan in 1993. In the background, a vulture stalks the emaciated child.

I have phobia of spiders and other insects but especially spiders. I'm even scared to spray the insect-killer at spiders from a distance. It takes me like an hour to get myself ready to spray at it from a safe distance. I'd like to know what is it that I'm scared of? I know they don't just jump at me but still I'm scared of them. So what is that "thing" that scares me about them?

For more than 20 years I was the most important person in my sons life recently he met someone and now has his own family he no longer has room in his life for me. Sometimes it was a strain supporting him and I prayed he would become more independant but I did not realise that this would result in my being completely cut out of his life. My life at the moment involves me going to work, endless rounds of doctors appointments ( am having tests for a number of health problems) and sitting at home on my computer or on the phone to family members who live a distance away.

I just asked him out for drinks, as a friendly gesture and he gives me this big speech about being out of the game, seeing someone and he's officially retiring from "playing the field" blah blah blah. I just wanted to take him out as friends, nothing romantic involved.

He also said "Thanks, I appreciate it". I felt kind of weird after that.

How should I have approached him with the offer for drinks in a platonic way?

and am absuloutely shattered all the next day, i spring to life the minute my kids go to bed which should be a brilliant opportunity to go bed my self. Instead I sit up till 2 in the morning watching crap on the telly.

it made me feel sick i saw him out the window spitting over my washing, i called him a dirty little git, my son said he was doing it yesterday, my grandaugher who lives with me like going round with him and i dont, like it. he said i did not wash today, he is so rude, i should not have said he was a dirty little git, i dont, like him much or her hanging round with him.
