I just had to answer this. The people telling you you aren't ready yet don't nessisarily mean you arn't. There telling you it may be a couple more weeks that could be tru but doughtful. Just because you haven't lost your mucus plug dosen't mean anything. You could be 2 cm dialated and not even know it. I was induced at 40 wks 5 days and my mucuse plug didn't fall out untill I was 5 cm. So don't worry you may be sitting there dialating and your mucus plug could stay in there untill another few cm. You could go to the hospital with contractions 5 mins apart and still no mucus plug. No big deal. Just hang in ther it could be right around the corner with out you even knowing.

Hi there! I'm 12 days overdue, and going in to hospital this evening to be induced, am pettrified! I haven't lost the mucus plug or have my waters broken yet. I have had a thick discharge but they said that's from having 3 stretch and sweeps (where the midwife inserst a finger and trys to encourage the cervix membrane to open) Hopefully you'll go into labour on your own. X

I know the feeling! I was induced with my daughter at 40 wks. and 5 days, and I wasn't dialating, contracting, losing my plug or anything. But thank god I was induced because she came out a whopping 8pounds 9ounces!
To answer your question, your due date can be off by two weeks, even if you had an ultrasound to determine it. They "guess" by measuring the baby's head, femur, and something else, I can't remember, and only 5% of babies are born on their due date. ( I am guessing these are planned c-sections ) so hang in there, you'r baby will surely come soon, or if you are so anxious, ask your doc to strip your membranes or just go ahead and induce you.

There is no rhyme or reason to giving birth. You just have to go with the flow.

Both of my labours were completely different, I had no mucus show for either and I had to have my waters burst by the midwife even though I went into quick natural labour with both babies.

Don't be in a hurry to have your baby unless you are well overdue. It will come when it's ready.

After six pregnancy's and five babies i can tell you that each time i had a different experience and not until the last one did my mucus plug come out. Best thing to remember is that when it's time it'll happen when your body wants it too. with or without the plug coming on it's own.

Not everyone does. I'm just over 38weeks pregnant with my 2nd daughter, I did loose a plug with my first but when I ask the midwife she said that not everyone will. I have been trying to bring on my labour and nothing is working either. I'm so fed up and uncomfortable I just want to meet my new daughter now so I understand how you must be feeling. A few things you could try if you do want to try and bring on labour, fresh pineapple, sex, curry, raspberry leaf tea, walking and climbing up stairs.
Good luck xx

considering which you have lost the mucus plug get waiting your infant would be right here as quickly as a pair of hours to an afternoon or 2. in case you start to sense contractions (tightening of the tummy) painful or no longer you may desire to get to the wellness midsection. Water breaking can ensue every time

All I can say is when your baby is ready to make it's grand debut, it will let you know. I remember how impatient I was with mine. I was one of the lucky ones though. I had my baby-girl on my due-date and in less than 5 hours. She is the only one I have and want and she is 18 and in college.

Hang in there...I know you are excited. You will probably deliver this very week. Good luck!

Because the baby isn't ready to come. You can go up to 42 weeks. Don't be to anxious, the goal is to have a fully mature baby that's healthy.
