I have phobia of spiders and other insects but especially spiders. I'm even scared to spray the insect-killer at spiders from a distance. It takes me like an hour to get myself ready to spray at it from a safe distance. I'd like to know what is it that I'm scared of? I know they don't just jump at me but still I'm scared of them. So what is that "thing" that scares me about them?

im scared of spiders too. . but i dont have a phobia like you do. . that "thing" that is scaring you, only you can figure out what it is. . different people can be scared by different things from the same object or thing... good luck xx

I think that what makes people afraid of spiders is the fact that some of them are poisonous and that spiders usually sucks the innards out of bugs while they are still alive. A rather horrible way to go having your innards sucked out and being aware of it until the last lingering moments of life.

You are afraid that the spiders will come and get you while you are sitting or sleeping. Generally speaking they will not. As long as the spiders are not encroaching on my computer or TV or sleeping area, or in the kitchen or shower I let them alone. They eat bugs and things that come in from the yard, garden.
