All great apes apart from man have 24 pairs of chromosomes. There is therefore a hypothesis that the common ancestor of all great apes had 24 pairs of chromosomes and that the fusion of two of the ancestor's chromosomes created chromosome 2 in humans. The evidence for this hypothesis is very strong.

I have a number of large potted plants on my patio. They were repotted with potting mix over a year ago. Just over the last few months I have been emptying my coffee grounds onto them. The plants are flourishing, however, they have started growing several sorts of really weird fungus - white toadstools and a hideous bright yellow fungus - growing out of the drainage holes. What on earth is in the coffee grounds to do this ? Should we still be drinking it ! It seems odd that, if the spores were in the potting mix, they have only started growing just recently. Any ideas ? And, other than repotting them all, how to get rid of the stuff? It is freaking me out a little. I have rather gone off coffee lately !

My half-sister, his child, because she was very young at the time, and because he never abused her, doesn't seem to want to acknowledge to me and my biological sister that these things actually happend. She says, " Why do you want to live in the past?" and "That has nothing to do with me, I wasn't there when those things happened, so it doesn't affect me." Am I right in being shocked by her attitude of non-chalance? I just can't seem to get past her attitude that it doesn't matter to her.

Hmm..where to start. My boyfriend and I have been dating for about a month and a half. We get close and stuff but hes always the one that starts it. Washington DC Metropolitian Areas sucks so badly.

There's Traffic Congestion out the Whazoo.

There are no great forests in the area. DC is at least 2 hours away from it's closest National Park (and the Shenandoah National Park is not that great relative to other parks).

The Crime is bad. Although to DC's credit, most of it takes place in Washington DC which is a small part of this whole Metropolitian Area.

Horrible Real Estate Market (500K+ dollars for a 1300 square foot home in a crappy suburban VA Neighborhood like Falls Church).

For the kids this area is even worse. There's no more riding bikes down the streets, playing by streams or in meadows with your friends. There are no more Trees. Few Public Swimming pools. No water skiing.

Very little opportunity to experience the Great Outdoors unless you consider a walk around the monuments and through Rock Creek Park the Great Outdoors. Painful heat and humidity in the summer.

My advice, don't move here. It sucks.

Without warning (usually they slow drain first, but not this time) our upstairs bathroom (sink and tub) stopped draining as well as the kitchen (double sink and water backing up into dishwasher). The downstairs bathroom (sink) is fine and both of the toilets seem to be fine. We got the upstairs bathroom to drain last night, but then this morning our whole kitchen was soaked in water (including carpeting!) and smelled like the drain stuff we used. It looks like the upstairs had drained out the kitchen sink (the counter was all wet as well). We haven't tried a snake yet, but the drain cleaner didn't work downstairs at all. Any ideas???

We are on well water and a septic tank. Don't know when the last time the tank was cleaned, but it won't be possible until the ground thaws! (Another month or so!!)

Firstly hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my question. This is a sensitive matter to me and I only require sincere, sensible answers please.
I have been with my bf for 2 years now. I have a little one from my previous marriage. When we first started going out, our sex life was passionate but not in a 2 rabbits kind of way like you would have expected.
When we do have s*x its very much passionate and responsive and all you would expect s*x between 2 in love. The thing is it doesn't happen very often, I cant even say once a week at the moment. We' ae affectionate though, we hug and kiss lots, we snuggle up on the sofa holding hands, we fall asleep each night in one another arms and we flirt madly with one another!
I'm not the most forward of people but thats a different tale and I find making the first move difficult, when I do it doesn't seem to have much of an effect, he says he still fancies me and loves me and says I'm very sexy but is there something up?
