I think true intelligence is realizing that there is always someone who will know more than you. Intelligence is not patronizing others because you think you are "educated". Although I'm a college graduate I get so disgusted with people who think just because they went to college that they are intelligent. Doesn't work that way. The most intelligent people I know didn't go to college at all. Funny how that works. I once had a great job working for a hospital in the Medical Staff Office. My boss who was very kind also taught a computer class at the local college. The funny thing is... she admitted to me that she new hardly anything about the software. I "who had never taken a class on the software" taught my boss how to teach her class. She was getting paid BIG bucks to teach a classroom full of students while I was teaching her. Doesn't seem fair. I learned much about college professors at that time in my life. I feel that I am intelligent. But I don't make it my lifes mission to be the "smartest" one in the room. I think that is a disgusting way to be and I actually prefer to be around people who know more than I do so I can learn from them. When people act like they are super intelligent and make it clear to people that they are ... they generally end up making fools out of themselves and it is not very enjoyable to be around them. Sorry if I've rambled. Have a pleasant day!

There are two things which we must care
1. Intelligence
2. Wisdom
Intelligence is just a property of mind that covers and collates many related abilities like using your common sense to solve problems, giving ideas, reasoning ability etc.
Wisdom on the other hand is the ability which can be developed only through experience and insight.
Intelligence gives you the power to know, learn and experience
Wisdom gives you the ability to excercise you experience.
If you use any one of the above qualities you can balance you mind and brain. I believe brain works with intelligence as it can give you two options like YES or NO for example. But its mind beaded on its experience and expertise will select either YES or NO. So both are really important for you to excel yourself in personally and professionally.
So try to read both your mind and brain through meditation, some brain excercises, both will work with happiness.

True intelligence is knowing how little you know.

No matter how much you have learned, or what you are capable of naturally - there is a whole world out there you haven't begun to explore.

Anyone who claims to 'know everything' has already proven that they know almost nothing.

There are different kinds of intelligence - the kind of 'book smarts' that get taught in most colleges might help you help you in the real world, but you will have to learn to apply what you have learned. This requires a completely different kind of intelligence.

If you want to learn - read, if you can't figure it out, then find someone who knows what you want to know. Use wikipedia, and other online tools that teach you about things. Some things require you to use your own judgement as to whether or not they are true - don't make snap decisions on everything - make sure to find out both (or more) sides of the argument. You will usually find out that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Intelligence can be defined by the alcholoics prayer.

Grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference

Mental strength, mental courage, acceptance and wisdom. You will find that most people classed or judged unintelligent will be missing one or all of the above..
