My mother went to the ER last weekend because she was dizzy and had numbness from the top of her head to the bottom of her foot. It is only on the right side and seems to go directly down the middle of her body. The left side has no sypmtoms. She still has full strength, but has the numbness. What could this be? She is waiting for blood work to come back and for insurance approval for an MRI, but her doctor has already said that she did not have a stroke and he said if it had been a pinched nerve, it would only affect from the nerve down, not the entire right side. He also said the only thing that he could come up with at that point was Lou Gherig's, but that usually has symptoms before an attack such as this. I am just looking to find out what it could possibly be. My mother is only 44 by the way, but she is overweight and not very active at all. Any other suggestions I could research would be appreciated.
Thank you.
