About a month ago, maybe a bit longer than that, Yahoo announced they were improving the process about controlling trolls. At first, the changes seemed to be much more effective, but now I find that it is taking a great deal of time to get notification about the reports (if at all). However, Yahoo does delete the offensive posts. I checked a few in this category (from a couple of days ago) and they are gone. I guess the volume of reports is higher than we think and there is only so much that can be done at any given time.
All we can do is keep reporting.

I don't know. I was wondering the same thing. I got a violation notice yesterday for an answer I posted about a week ago and I forgot that I had even answered that question. So if it takes that long normally, maybe yahoo is just flooded with violations. Things have been very bad here lately, and if it is the same on some of the other forums, I guess they have LOTS of violations to consider.

A requirement for more staff? Goodness knows how many reports of abuse they get on a daily basis, I average about 3 or 4, multiply that by say 50% of the Yahoo! Answers community and I'm surprised any get deleted at all!

It probably takes so long because there are so many people out there that are really abusing the site. This and all the other forums are for questions and answers, but you get the people that only go on here to ask stupid questions or bash people. Just the sheer quantity of idiots in this world is overwelming. Hence the quantity of stupid questions is overwelming.

Because there are hundreds of idiots posting idiot things or overly sensitive people going into a category they know they don't like and some just like to grief whether through reporting or posting.

Good question. However I've noticed that it is almost instantaneous that a legitimate question or answer is deleted if its by a GLBT. Yahoo? Any response to that?

its very aggravating when you file a report and you expect it to be taken care of and it takes forever. Im going to keep reporting until the YA takes notice of it.
