what i want to say is that this is SO hypocritical as these people are exremely rich and if they want TRULY to help they can give some money of their immense fortunes and not make concerts for that purpose as in the end you and me are the ones who do the charity

What is your view of spanking a misbehaving child? Is it abusive and will teach the children that their behavior is not in their own control (which I've read on several parenting websites), or do you think spanking is an appropriate parenting tool to help teach the child to behave?

My aunt has it, and it is so bad--she claims--that she can't work.
She's a college-educated woman, intelligent, and capable, so why shouldn't she have to work like the rest of us?
I mean, granted, the OCD gives her very annoying habits--like collecting literally TONS of useless junk and not throwing it away (and she gets FURIOUS if you tell her that she needs to clean it up!), but how does that render her unfit for employment?
Maybe she shouldn't be an accountant, as she'd have to check her figures over and over and over again, but there's other types of work she could certainly do.
Do you know anyone with OCD who claims that it's so bad they cannot function--i.e. can't work or maintain a household or have relationships?
It is a very strange, annoying illness, that's for sure!

My girlfreind remembers a film that sounds very odd.

Its about a 30 something year old man whose mother dresses him in baby clothes and nappies feeds him from a bottle. Then a Reporter comes along who ends up killing the mother taking the man/baby and introducing him to another man who is also dressed as a baby?

Any idea of the film?

Congress is in the process of passing a law that would make it a crime to spank children. It would be considered a misdemeanor, the person would receive jail time, and a fine of $2,000. Now me, Im19 years old and i got spanked. I hated when my mother did it but it kept me out of a lot of potential trouble. Im still a kind of bad *** but it could have been worse. Im not in prison or anything. Takin into account that i may be pregnant with a child right now i do not want some law tellin me how to discipline my kids. There is a line between abuse and discipline. This woman that wants the law to be passed doesnt even have children! What are yr opinions on th issue?

If "parents" are so concerned about who their kids meet online shouldn't THEY take responsibilty for watching over their kids? Why use tax payer money to watch over people who have already served the time society demands for whatever they did? It is unfair to keep persecuting people who have already served their prison sentence AND probation. Yet they are still getting slapped with new laws/requirements/guidelines. Most of "those people" are first time offenders. After serving their prison sentence they face around 5 years probation. On probation they must go see their P.O. at least once a month, are subject to warrantless searches ANY time of day/night INCLUDING THEIR COMPUTERS at home & work (if/when they are lucky enough to find someone who will hire them). And they must have a full time job & register on the sex offenders list for 10 years . If they didn't screw up on 5 years probation chances are they probably won't. Make parents responsible or keep kids off the internet.

I sold a house in 2005 and claim the house selling exemption for my capitol gains and that time I was single. I got married in 2006 and before I got married my spouse sold her house and made a profit on it. We are now filing a joint return. Can we claim the capitol gains exemption since she was single at the time of the sell and meets all the requirements?
