I like the way you think!
It's about time we stopped putting the "scarlet letter" on people who have been found to be "sex offenders," especially if they've done their time.
Most parents today are too afraid to discipline their kids, or simply don't have time, or worse they think society is responsible for raising the kids.
We in America are experiencing the F-word... Fascism. And it's only going to get worse until the people stand up against those few (like the fundamentalist "Christians") who want to think and speak for all of us.

The offender. Parents, schools , churches might not protect children as they should. So they could be a factor to it. They need to make safety a priority rather than skipping precautions for a day for fun or whatever. I don't blame a parent for turning their head a moment in the park, or a church for what a sex offender did in if they are not covering up for it (I was raises catholic and some there did--I don't blame all for it), or a school for a sex offending coach. I blame the offender!!! I do agree though we should never let our guard down for our children's sake. Don't allow them to be put in a situation that could be dangerous just because it's Halloween. Offenders do love holidays like this, even Christmas Santa have been know for using and getting to kids It get worst, year by year it seems

RESPONSIBLE and CONCERNED parents DO monitor their children on the internet.
Convicted sex offenders are lucky that parents of victims don't get to have at them with a baseball bat. They chose to do a crime that carries a lifetime sentence of a sorts. If they did not want to have their life examined under a microscope than they should have thought it out and refrained from doing whatever it is that they did.
Until or unless you have been affected by some one who has convicted a sex crime, whether against an adult or a child, you may not understand the true damage that they cause. Being a victim is a lifetime sentence too.

While I agree that today's parents have shirked their responsibilities and would rather suffer consequences than raise thier children and do not in any way condone or defend the sex offenders actions. The sex offenders should be old enough to know that there are just some things one should not do with children.

Parents can think that they are monitoring their kids on the net but the kids today know how to work the Internet far better than their parents know how to monitor it! My Grandson knows how to make a computer do everything but dance on his bedroom floor & I'm not sure he can't do that! Sex offenders can access the internet via a friends computer, the library, places you can rent time on a computer; so yes, they can keep their computers clean. That doesn't mean that they are not on the internet seeking kids to intice. These people are dangerous to our children. Unfortunatly we can only try to keep our kids safe. Only try!

while I certainly agree with the fact that many parents allow their children to get into that type of trouble because of lack of parenting!
The issue I have though with part of your question is that yes while they have done their sentence, as soon as they are released they are going to get another victim! That concerns me a whole lot!
Pedophiles sexual attraction is to children and you are no more going to change that than we could yours!
The ONLY SAFE PLACE for a pedophile is in jail!
Oh, and you mean didn't get caught! Do you think that child molestation happens like rape? Well it doesn't and most victim's never tell and have their adult lives screwed up by their experiences! Most pedophiles have had over 100 victims the FIRST TIME they are caught!
Every pedophile I have talked to, and I have talked to a lot of them, say they are going to re-offend. As a matter of fact, I have never heard a fixated pedophile claim he would not!

I don't understand your logic. It is the parents fault that some pervert molested their child? That is just a sick attitude.Sorry, but they deserve everything they get and should be persecuted their entire life. They ruined the child's life,so why shouldn't their life be ruined also.I don't care how many times they have to go to their PO or have their home and computers searched. They deserve far worse.I think anyone that puts their hands on a child should get an automatic life term, and be put into general population of the prison.Let some guy named Bubba show him what it is like to be molested.

believe it or not, kids are alot better at fooliing their parents than you think they are. Parents can be on top of their kids all day long and some how their kids still end up on drugs. Think about that girl who flew all the way to the middle east without her parents knowing. She planned that thing all on her own by tricking her parents. Parents should never be held to the same kind of punishment that those filthy animals who prey on young children get.

If we'd just lock perverts up for life, your question would be irrelevant. Baby rapists shouldn't have any more rights than they afforded their victims. Those victims pay the price EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THEIR LIVES. If *you* have no problem with perverts, move 'em into YOUR house and be responsible for them. If it was up to me, they'd be shot on sight.
Pass Jessica's Law!
Ironically, I *do* agree with you that parents need to be more involved in what their kids are doing. But since we have become such a selfish society, far too many parents are more worried about themselves than about their kids. I think people should HAVE to take a parenting class before being allowed to reproduce.
