It seems that male doctors are forced to have short haircuts and clean shaven faces. People say it is hygiene, but they wear caps over their hair in surgery, anyways. I was in the army as a combat medic, and had very high marks. I think the military should allow men to have long hair as well, but that's another story. The thing is, my school is offering scholarships for doctors, basically, i could almost be a doctor for free, but then they want me to get haircuts. It seems that a male doctor with a ponytail beats no doctor anyday. I am getting a biochem major for now, and know I could do extremely well in medical school, but this lame reason keeps me out. It is nothing more than sexual discrimination, as female docs are allowed long hair.
