People are so certain of their beliefs (religious and non-religious), but when you objectively look at humans you find this enormous breadth of viewpoints. Many times even an individual person will have a different belief in the evening compared to that morning (not to mention over a month, a year, a lifetime).
Not to get all teary eyed, but shouldn't this obvious fact give us all a little more patience and tolerance toward one another? Throw in the 'truths' found in both metaphor and logic and how can we not look at other peoples beliefs without a little bit of, "yeah, I can kinda see that would be good.."?
