Thats a toughy... I think America is a good place, but then again... It depends on the state. The IRS is really harsh. And I have nothing on Canada. And India, and Iran, and Pakastan (no offence to all you africans. I have a lot of friends from that race and really dont have anything against you) I think its very harsh. If you got the new issue of Seventeen (the February Issue) it has a story about this woman being arrested and possibly being charged with death for being raped! That sucks! its illeagle for a woman to have sex under any circumstaances unless they are married or something. I think the rapists should be killed! That is so unfair! So I don't know a good answer for this question. Ill just say AUSTRALIA because thats what everyone else says.

I live in Australia, it would have to be the best country. Im from UK and recently spent almost 5 years back there. So many people are moving from there now just like many other people in other countries. Australia is the worlds largest island, it has such aan amazing diverse contrast of so many things, the desert, the snow, the rainforests, the beaches and country etc etc etc. It has its share of problems like anywhere else but you can really be yourself here and nothing is out of ones reach, even if you werent well off financially you can still have a good quality of life if you dont do stupid things, the standard of living is excellent and plenty of jobs, great food, great customer service and FUN. Children have a better chance of a future too.

If given a chance , I will settle down in Mauritius. Some or how, people who had gone there gave me a impression that the atmosphere there is quite silent and you can live peacefully there ( Away from this very busy crowd in Chennai.. oops ..)

I just need money to live a contended life and also need some peace of mind to do things I like the most.. Pictures which were shown to me about Mauritius is quite appealing and promises a great time..

by the way, thanks for giving me an oppurtunity to express myself

I will prefer to live in my own country for the lifetime, I love my country India so much. Though there are few things which people in India dont like about it but I think that If god has sent me here, he must have sent me here to be a part of the solutions of the problems and not to be someone among the problems.

For me i dont foresee myself settling in any other country than India. Because this is what gives me an identity. Yes maybe in US or UK, i can earn dollars and pounds, but at the end of the day, i will be a second class citizen. Some one to be pushed out, when it comes to shove. For me overseas is only an oppurtinity to learn, and apply that knowledge back here in India.
I would any day settle down in India, because, i know my children would not grow up confused over whether to be an Indian or an American. I grew up admiring Kishore Kumar and Eric Clapton both. I love watching Al Pacino, as much as i do Amitabh Bachan or Kamal Hassan. I love my Tintin and Asterix, as much as i do Chandamama or Amar Chitra Katha or Tinkle. Its because i grew up in India, i could experience the best of both cultures. I need not force my daughters to learn Bharat Natyam or classical music, just to prove that they are Indians. My daughters are not going to grow up with an angst of belonging neither here nor there.
This is a place, where i know in case of a crisis or need, my near and dear ones are always at hand. I know i can fall back on my family for support of any kind. This is a country, where i can celebrate any festival, without having to owe an explanation to some one.
Yes we are beset with a myriad problems, but show me one country in the world which is problem free. For all it's problems , India is a country, where i would settle down for life.

There is no other country left except INDIA where I would like and love not only to settle but also to be born again, because of the freedom of thought and action that this country allows. There is vast variety of religious literature available, vast opportunity to undertake any good and noble work. The habit of the people of free mixing and sharing ideas is, I think unique to India.May God bless India .May God save India.

If I had to I would settle down in a dark little corner.I mean India is not anything,it doesn't have it's own regionalty anymore. Before I used to think India was the best place! Now I think it's the worst.Every state is trying to imitate America.India is not India, why it's Little America, that's what I say!I haven't visited in 4 years but the pictures I see....hari om,hari om.Bagwan mughe bach a le.
